That add is sweet. I just wish they'd get it broadcast during other ESPN and ESPN2 telecasts besides the games themselves.

    Nice ad.

MLS is really looking a lot more professional this year than ever. The jerseys, the commerical, the ads on the sidelines, everything.

Great commercial. This may be the first time we have something close to a consensus on BigSoccer.

That's because this is the first time MLS has been responsible for a commercial that didn't look like absolute crap.

is that Lockhart stadium in the background of some of the shots of the players? it looks like they're at a nice little stadium. i saw blue seats and yellow seats, that's why i say it could be Lockhart, maybe they shot it at spring training?

I saw the commercial. It was very corny. Can't they come up with something at least a little better?

I like the commercial and I think that the past off-season moves has begun to make MLS appear more serious and professional. Now MLS has to get over it's inferiority complex vis-a-vis the other three sports and start showing MLS commercials during there telecasts. For too long MLS has acted as if they were apologizing for being around. Soccer as an international sport doesn't take a backseat to any American sport. I think that it may be about time for the MLS execs to begin acting like it and start getting in basketball and baseball's face by buying air time for their commercials. I'd also like to see some of Nike's commercials shown in Europe be shown here as well. Also, I'm tired of world cup sponsors (like Budweiser) not displaying the WC logos in their commercials during WC years. Are they embasased or what? After all, they do show the olympic logo in their commercials shown in the U.S., so why not the WC? Just some thoughts.

A terrific spot. I like it because it not only looks good but sends an important message of what is being built in this country. Also, with the world as f'ed up as it is right now sending a message of different people coming together without politicizing it adds a nice social touch to the spot. Well done MLS and well done to all of us at Big Soccer who are helping make this the New Soccer Nation! Keep building...we've still got a lot of work to do.

I loved Kyle Martino's line: "This sport has a religion." It is so true. The soccer fan has something that no fan of any home grown American game can claim. Our sport truly is universal. As such, there is a common appreciation among all players and fans all over the world. That's why the WC is so much bigger than the Olympics. Who can get all that excited about the discus or luge? There's no shared experience there for most viewers. Not so for soccer fans. With this common experience, a soccer league, its' players and fans have an identity that is similar to a nationality. And MLS is evolving into a big league with quality play. It is a New soccer Nation. Also, most players they featured have been to the World Cup, where America has just established itself as a new power in world soccer, the new Soccer Nation. Great ad. Now it's time to show it to those who aren't already watching MLS.

I like it when Stoitchkov & Myung-Bo hong was saying Welcome to the new Soccer Nation in their native languages as well with all of the latin american players.

This is now the start that should have been done a long time ago, but now that Don Garber is the commish I feel confident that MLS is now going to be taken seriously.

We need an NFL Man to grab the reigns of MLS.

I think in my 22 years on this earth (17 playing soccer) my favorite soccer experience was not any of the championship teams I have been on before, it did not involve the hat trick I scored back in my youth club days, it did not involve my game winning assist in a high school playoff game, it did not involve my tabletop goal that I scored in my later club days...it was kicking the ball around with several of my friends at school when 3 Indians guys came up and spoke the only word of english they knew at the time, "game?" We smiled and nodded. 15 minutes later two Eastern European guys (who spoke very broken english) joined us, by the end of the game we had an 8 v 8 game going with 5 different nationalities. American (6), Mexican (3), Indian (3), German (2), and Czech (2). No one really understood each other all that well when it came to language, but man was that a fun game to play.

Soccer is a religion. It is a game that brings people together like nothing else on this earth can.

I echo the sentiments of Chicago1871's post.

The summer of 2002, in Ames Iowa, a few guys kicking the ball around during evenings grew to 50+ players from all nationalities showing up to kick the ball around. The World Cup fever probably helped.

Great fun and tired legs and sleepless nights and that JOB goal!
