yeah, he does go down fairly easy but seriously, that is an underrated part of an attacking players game, too. He draws a lot of fouls because he can get in and around defenders. Drawing fouls is huge for any team, especially the Revs.
So did he start yesterday? Has there been any word how he did, any mention in the video updates they do, anyone eye witness anything?
well so much for that whole new exciting Danish striker thing: http://theallocationorder.com/2011/update-on-revolution-transfer-target-rajko-lekic/ kinda sucks. thought the NER might have found a gem there.
NER are never ahead of the game. They will probably make an offer a week from now which is usually how they operate. day late and a dollar short
Actually, the Revs are probably waiting for Lekic to finish his trial before the club makes their decision known to Silkeborg.
You are correct, http://www.tipsbladet.dk/nyhed/superliga/n-e-revolution-traekker-lekic-beslutning (Rough Translation) Right now coach Rajko Lekic with New England Revolution for the second time since he left for Boston in the U.S. on Monday. Tuesday he got free after the long flight, and on Wednesday he trained for the first time with the club. The plan raises Rajko Lekic home to Silkeborg tomorrow. But before then, the New England Revolution with Lekic evaluate training efforts with a view to possibly making a contract. - We have not yet decided whether we will buy him. We must evaluate his stay here with him after he has trained today. It's no secret that we are hunting for attackers, and if it makes sense for us, for him and for Silkeborg, so we go after him, but it is too early to say yet, "said Michael Burns, who handles the play's New England Revolution, to tipsbladet.dk. Rajko Lekic came in contact with New England Revolution through an American agent. The club then approached Silkeborg and was allowed to invite a visit to the club in the match break. It also gave Lekic Law of his Danish club to negotiate with the club on a free transfer move when his contract expires at the end of 2011, although there is still 10 months left on his contract. Silkeborg-director Kent Madsen stressed earlier in the day that he has not yet been in contact or negotiations with the American club. Michael Burns also states that they have not talked contract with either Silkeborg or Lekic. - We have not even reached the actual negotiations. As said it is too early to say what will happen. Now we evaluate after training today, then he travels home, and then we see what we decide, "said Michael Burns. The U.S. transfer window does not close until mid April why New England Revolution can still transfer players
We have not even reached the actual negotiations. As said it is too early to say what will happen. Now we evaluate after training today, then he travels home, and then we see what we decide, "said Michael Burns. Like I said, probably make an offer next week
Nicol said they thought this transfer was done when talking to the Boston Globe the other day. I don't buy the "we're still evaluating him" line, I think they ultimately won't want to shell out the $ to buy him outright. He could still join in January, but I'd be shocked if the Krafts shell out for him.
Well, that was Burns, not Nicol talking, and I think its fair to say we know which one is a bit more candid with his comments.
that might have been referring to the deal they thought the had in Feb. As for joining next Jan, that would be a classic Burns move. What do you fans want? we signed a striker....For next year but its a striker none the less!
http://www.boston.com/sports/soccer/articles/2011/03/21/consider_arena_officially_upset/ Danish striker Rajko Lekic, 29, currently with Silkeborg IF, will join the team for training this week, according to vice president of player personnel Michael Burns. “He’s one of the players we tried to sign and thought we had done,’’ coach Steve Nicol said before last night’s game. “We’re going back with him and we’re talking again.’’ This is why I don't buy the "he's on trial, we'll decide when he leaves" line, sounds like Burns preparing fans to be disappointed.
