Barcelona join Emerson race Saturday 22 November, 2003

Emerson's threats to leave Roma have also sparked the interest of Barcelona, according to the Spanish press.

The Brazilian midfielder has warned that he could walk away in the summer, a year before his contract expires in 2005.

His agent has demanded a firm schedule for the outstanding wage payments that the financially troubled club has yet to hand over.

Inter and Milan have already prepared bids, but the Spanish press has now claimed that Barcelona are leaping in with their own offer.

“The Blaugrana are ready to hand over £7m plus Rochemback,” insists newspaper ‘As’.

“Emerson is well respected by manager Frank Rijkaard and would be available in the summer due to Roma’s financial worries.”

The Brazilian also added to the reports with a television interview to Catalan station TV3.

“I would be very honoured if Barcelona were interested in me,” noted Emerson. “Unfortunately this does not depend on me, because right now I have a contract with Roma.”

He would be reunited with Brazil teammate Ronaldinho at the Nou Camp, although Roma may prefer the hard cash offered by Chelsea.

The Giallorossi rejected a £20m bid from the Stamford Bridge outfit in the summer and may reconsider following their financial woes.

Barcelona were also in the news this week for a reported attempt to sign Christian Vieri.

Vieri and Emerson in Barca, that is realy like a dream to me. With those two players we might have the best team in Europe. (emerson only if Saviola gets spanish passport; but we can also sell Rustu)

Roma's Emerson fancies joining Ronie at Barcelona

AS Roma midfield ace Emerson has admitted he'd welcome talks with Barcelona.
The Brazilian international was asked about reported interest from Barca by Rio journalists during the week and said, "Nothing is impossible, but I still have a year left on my contract and Barca and Roma would have to speak about the subject first.

"I have spoken with Ronaldinho about Barça and he has explained to me how great a club it is."

Its reported Barca are ready to offer Roma £7 million plus midfielder Fabio Rochemback for Emerson at the end of the season.

Though reluctant to lose their Brazilian star, Roma's finances mean they cannot pass up any decent offer for their major players.

Barcelona, Real Madrid plan January approach for Juventus' Davids

Real Madrid and Barcelona are chasing Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids.

Encouraged by reports AS Roma have been forced to cool their interest because of poor finances, both Spanish Liga giants are now preparing to speak with the Dutchman in January.

Davids is out for contract at the end of the season and is a regular visitor to Barcelona, where several of his Dutch colleagues play.

Barca vice-president Sandro Rosell discussed Davids' transfer with coach Frank Rijkaard earlier this month.

At Real Madrid, the club's technical staff see the Holland international as an ideal replacement for Claude Makelele and would love to have him team up with David Beckham in the middle of their midfield.

    Barcelona keep tabs on Verpakovskis'

Barcelona are keeping tabs on Skonto Riga striker Maris Verpakovskis.

The Latvia international will trial at Arsenal after accepting an offer from the Gunners last week.

But Barca are also keen to speak with the 24 year-old, who will almost certainly be sold in January.

While management have ruled out any midseason transfer activity, if Verpakovskis is keen to move to the Nou Camp, it's suggested Barca will find room in their budget for his £2 million transfer fee.

    Anyone heard of him before?!

    Barca eye Osasuna star

Barcelona are reported to be monitoring Osasuna's pacey striker Valdo.
The hit-man, full name Vladimiro Lopes Rocha, only joined Osasuna last summer from Real Madrid for €1.5 million (£1 million) where he was part of the Real B squad.
The 22-year-old has been a virtual ever-present for Javier Aguirre's men this term, and although he has only netted twice in 11 appearances the forward has turned in a string of impressive performances.
Barca actually had the chance to sign Valdo as a youngster, but turned down the opportunity after receiving unfavourable reports from former chief scout Joaquim Rife.
Real then swooped for player, and it has been revealed that 'los merengues' have an option to re-sign him from Osasuna for €1.7 million should they be impressed by his progress there.
Barca would be forced to pay a considerably higher price if they wish to prise Valdo away from the Navarra-based outfit, but it seems unlikely that Osasuna would be willing to release one of their most impressive performers at such an early stage.

    Barcelona for 15 year-old whiz

Real Madrid are set to trump Seville for 15 year-old whiz-kid Jose Maria Carrion.
The striker has been described as a born-goalscorer, having struck over 80 goals last season in various junior competitions.

Carrion is the nephew of ex-Seville president Rafael Carrion and is currently playing for Atletico Libertad.

Real Madrid scout Jose Prado has written up a detailed dossier on Carrion and recommended they move for the teenager immediately.

Along with Seville, Barcelona, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid are also chasing the striker.

He came to the notice of Seville youth coach, Mariano Pulido, after scoring all four goals earlier this season in Libertad's 4-1 win over a Seville youth team.

We may not allowed that real sign him before we do!!

These are the types of Moves Laporta needs to make..snapping up youth and investing for the future. But we have room for a great like Davids.

Bayern's Ballack chases Ù15M Chelsea deal
    tribalfootball.com - November 28, 2003

Chelsea are leading the race for Bayern Munich's want-away star Michael Ballack.
The German ace has fallen out with Bayern management and told friends there is no way the rift can be healed.

The midfielder's fitness and commitment have been questioned, with suggestions he is more interested in playing for Germany than Bayern.

Chelsea have already been sounded out by representatives and signalled their interest. Bayern are likely to ask around £15 million at the end of the season.

He is for sale?! Asking me it must be a joke. He is one of the best midfielders in the world, every manager want him, it seems that Barca dont have the stupidest board in Europe after all.

    200 million pounds for Henry

Arsenal boss Wenger invites Henry offers - at Ù200M!
    tribalfootball.com - November 30, 2003

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told his board he is prepared to sell striker Thierry Henry - for £200 million!
The Sunday Mirror says with Europe's big spenders beginning to circle, Wenger has slapped the massive price-tag on his French ace to ward off interest.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and Barcelona counterpart Laporta have both hinted this week at making bids for Henry at the end of the season.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich would also love to bring the Balon d'Or nominee to Stamford Bridge.

OK, OK we wont sign Henry

this is just typical euromedia BS, they won't sell ballack and if they did it would cost well more than 15M euro

Ballack leave Germany? Not before Kahn does. Chelsea has enough midfielders already. Unless it'd be a Big Swap deal (Ballack for Makelele + Veron)

The problem is that Ballack want to leave Bayern, he had some problems with the board and coach. It is talking at around 15 million € or even less which I believe is just a crack. It is very unlikely to happen and I think he will not go to Chelsea either. It is possible that he will leave if Bayern dont win anythink this season... but you never know what money can buy. We will see, as far our board dont say we want that guy I am not interesting at it.

Barcelona seek talks with Chelsea's Hasselbaink
    tribalfootball.com - December 3, 2003
Barcelona are seeking talks with the representatives of Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
The Independent says Barca are ready to offer Hasselbaink a return to Spain to finish his career after a successful earlier spell with Atletico Madrid.
Hasselbaink could be handed a free transfer by Chelsea, which would suit Barca president Joan Laporta as he is reluctant to open the purse strings this season.

Barcelona seek to trump Espanyol for Tottenham's Postiga
    tribalfootball.com - December 3, 2003
Barcelona have joined Espanyol in their interest for Tottenham striker Helder Postiga.
The Portugal U21 international is a loan target for Espanyol coach Luis Fernandez, who hopes to have the youngster for the second-half of the season.
However, Barca are prepared to make a cash offer for Postiga ahead of an end-of-season move.
Barca president Joan Laporta is believed to have discussed a possible £6 million bid for the Portuguese with his trainer Frank Rijkaard and vice-president Sandro Rosell.

Barcelona entertain Man Utd ace Van Nistelrooy, Arsenal's Henry
    tribalfootball.com - December 5, 2003
Manchester United star Ruud van Nistelrooy was in Barcelona this week and met with president Joan Laporta.
Laporta's spokesman, Juanjo Castillo, has admitted Barca's interest in signing the Dutch ace next season.
But Van Nistelrooy was in Spain this week only for commercial reasons, visiting the Nou Camp with Arsenal's Thierry Henry.
Castillo said, "The players we have been talking about next June have been David Trezeguet, Thierry Henry and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
"But it won't be easy, because van Nistelrooy is happy at Manchester and Henry is important to Wenger."

Nedved will be solution only for two years and I dont believe that Juventus would sold Trezeguet at "normal price".
Van der Vaart is leaving Ajax at the end of season!!!-I think he is better option than Nedved. And Ibrahimovic as a striker?

Well, First Ballack needs a Haircut, his hair is disgusting.
Second, Trezeguet is nothing w/out Henry. Trezeguet is not as good as it seems because in Big matches (against Milan/Inter/Roma/Parma) he disappears. He played horrible in the CL FInal. And even missed a penalty.
