If I understand this article correctly, there will be field level seats at RFK next season. There will be catering and other perks. They will be located along the east sideline. This is right in front of the Nest.

Catered folding chair seats? In front of the Nest? Anyone else think this is a seriously bad idea?

None of us have any idea what you could possibly be referring to.

Can you stand on your seat and jump up and down in the catered section?

Im not sure how much of a demand there will be for the sideline seats in front of the Barra, unless it's from Barra members.

i think they should just rip the seats out of the upper deck completely. If those fold up seats are there i feel bad for anyone who dares who buy them.

Well, the good people who sit on the sideline in front of 124/135 better bring it strong, otherwise they might get a little wet.

In all seriousness, I think that's an incredibly bad idea. If they want to add field level seats, they ought to be along the south end line a la the Honduras qualifier.

This is a joke right? Can you imagine the horror of some poor bastard who buys those seats.
Maybe we can ask for their extra fries or get them to order a round of beers for us. Where will the big fat CSC dudes stand in between the tables?
Maybe they will be the waiters. Hey you in the yellow jacket bring me a BudLight and nachos?

    Word.

Then La Norte could move at halftime and be behind the opposing goalie the entire game.

    Steve...listening?

Interesting...I'm glad to hear sales are at a record pace. And since they give a dollar amount of 1 million I guess it isn't a percentage of seats sold (which would be greater).

Maybe that is why I've got a little breathing room from my ticket rep. I plan to renew, just want to get through all of the other end of year stuff first. Besides, it isn't like I have to compete for my seats (as they were eliminated).

Remember, DC United was the only team in MLS to have a significant attendance decline last season. We didn't have all of the extras we had the year before, but we also had poor attandances. I foresee a massive rebound both on the field and in the stands next season. :D

Actually, I fear the the field level seats on the east side will be right near me in 138 as we're the only season ticket holders in the section (which we haven't renewed yet).

There is a gate there for field level access, which would be annoying to have those people tromping through there all game.

Either that, or they would be in front of the other corner on the east side as there is also a gate there that they have used for field level seating in the past.

I hope they're not misguided enough to put fans paying big bucks in front of packed supporter sections.

"Oh, waiter...there's a traffic flare in my soup..."

The hotdogs were already notorious even when the Redskins' fans were filling the place. Could you imagine what RFK brand soup would taste like? The label would read: We use only the most pristine water from the Anacostia River, Potomac River catfish marinated with Corona for a special flavor, pigeon breast smoked with Barra Brava smoke bombs...;)

Will this be similar to the Crew's "Party on the Pitch" which never seems to have anyone in it?

Last season, perhaps for the Dallas game or one of the other end of the season games, they had that group in folding chairs in front of the Barra/Nest area. It was amusing to watch these people minding their own business and turn around with looks of horror and bewilderment when we got singing just before kickoff. The rest of the game the parents covered their kids ears and several of the "yuppie" types were looking at us like we were insane (albeit a correct conclusion). I look forward to continuing this tradition of corrupting the youth and shocking the "normals" all through next season!

I look forward to the first singing of:

"If I had the wings of an eagle,
And I had the a** of a crow,
    I'd fly over..."

    :)

I remember this only too well! :D

IIRC they did this to get people to sign up for 2003 season tickets.

If they do sell those tickets, then I would have to seriously consider getting one. I would love to give that Metroscum pu$$y Jolley a piece of my mind face-to-face!

No, your "seat" is behind the counter at the concession stand.
