Anyone other season ticket holders get their new scarf today? They look nice. I'll be happily representing my colors tomorrow.
Didn't get mine yet - but then again I re-upped my tickets through the Screaming Eagles, so it's possible that they'll be sending out those scarves at a different time. I eagerly await their arrival, as it is actually scarf weather outside right now, and two DC United scarves just aren't enough for me.
Chilling! It's straight out of "The Mummy": The package is opened: "It is ze curse! Beware of ze cuurrrsssee!" The Calendar is read: "Look, it says here...Pope is October, Moreno is July..." "NO! You must not read from the Calendar!!!" The consequences are as inevitable as when players appear on season tickets: "Meanwhile, new Metros GM Imhotep continued the Scumsiders' offseason moves by announcing a blockbuster trade with DC United."
I sent off my money for my season tickets (via SE's) around the time of the scarf cutoff but have yet to receive the tickets or a scarf. I'm guessing the tickets come later and that I missed the scarf cutoff date, but if I'm incorrect and need to say something, please let me know. Thanks. -Tron
Yet even more chilling, Ed, is that when I first read this post your post count was 666...nice effect, that!
Furthermore, it is obvious the stars are just for decoration. The wings on the eagle represent championships, domestic and other.
I got my scarf. It's pretty nice. I have a question for other season ticket holders. Do you just get one scarf, or is it one scarf per season ticket? I get two tickets every year, but only one of the giveaways.
Same thing happened to me. They did this last year, with the bobbleheads. They only sent one set of giveaways to people who had two sets of tickets - or at least, to people who had two sets of tickets in the Nest. Once the situation was pointed out to them, they corrected their mistake. I've already e-mailed the SE Ticketmistress to let her know that I only got one scarf and one calendar. You should probably contact the Barra ticket rep to let them know, then let them handle the matter from there. Still, the one scarf I did get today looks good. Love the stars.
A friend has handled the ordering of tickets for my group for a number of years. He got the scarf and calendar the other day. He called our ticket rep today to ask if we would get a scarf for each ticket ordered and the rep told him they were only sending out one per order--and agreed it didn't make sense since each person in our group would get a scarf if they ordered their ticket individually. In the past, we've always gotten a t-shirt for each ticket ordered. Don't know why this is different and I'm gonna try to see if I can't get a scarf, too. In the future, if they continue this policy, I'll just have to order my ticket separately. That will make for a lot more people-hours by employees in the ticket office if everyone does the same thing. I don't want to add extra costs to the League, but they're forcing my hand! And the cost providing me a scarf shouldn't drive the team out of business. I mean, it's not as if they didn't make an embarrassing amount of money off me at the equipment sale... (Which reminds me, anyone want an Eddie Pope bobblehead doll?)
Tell me again why United sends this out UPS just a few days before Christmas? I got a 'tried to deliver' note on my door when I got home this evening. I'm flying out tomorrow until after Christmas and won't be able to get it. Hopefully I can get them to hold the package at the station until after I get back.
I got one scarf and one calendar. I want another scarf, another calendar. And I want two t-shirts. It's pure unadulterated crap to only send out one of each when I bought TWO tickets.
I'm with you on this! I got my single calendar and single scarf for the TWO SEASON TICKETS I've been buying for the past few years! Is DC United going out of its way this holiday season to play the Grinch?! I swear, first a trade with the Metroscum and now this scarf/calendar fiasco! While normally, I am a big fan of the front office and think that Mr. Zack does a great job, but you (DC's front office) dropped a Moon sized ball here with this one order one scarf/calendar idea! This is the kind of stuff that people remember and will call United "cheapskates" and not want to bother with them again... Remember, for the die hards we can moan about this on Bigsoccer.com, for those casual season ticket holders they are just going to think DC United is a crappy organization...
