Nike Cup game on October 6th at SAS stadium... After missing not one, but two shots on goal... both going WIDE RIGHT (and both only several feet away from the goal)... It gives me great pleasure to announce the new "QUEEN OF WIDE RIGHT" to: Shannon MacMillan!! {Hooper tosses crown and septor to Mac, who lowers her head in shame and accepts her fate } On a positive note, Heather scored her first goal; My fave player, Lilly, scored; I didn't see Brandi whine, not even once :: passes out in shock :: (however, I did see Mia flop...twice ) and the lemonade at SAS is the best!! Overall though, not a good outing for the red, white and blue.
Try harder sunshine! It's gonna take more than one bad outing from Mac to take away that oh so deserved crown that Hooper wears. Lets see... Who missed the goal completely in the biggest game of her career? No not Mac. The correct answer would be POOPER! Yeah Mac missed two relatively lazy shots in the run of play. The day Mac misses something like PK in a CHAMPIONSHIP game... well then you can call her thus. Not now. But I appreciate the effort Kim. Rivalry sucks in here. it's dead.
So true, M9. Mac's miss didn't cost her team the game. Hooper, however, will always know she choked like Mama Cass and relegated da beat to the losers status they inhabit so comfortably.

Probably thoughout the Tourney she flopped at LEAST 5 times in the 2 games I saw. Trying to get the "Hey, don't you know who I am?! I'm on the ground Ref! I'm MIIIIIIAAAA HAMM! No Mac didn't blow the game!!! A champinship game at that. If memory serves me right Mac hits em when they count. There is a certain Sports Illustrated with A HUGE picture of Mac on the cover that is a testament to how much Mac DOESN'T choke under pressure. Plus it came with that great Mac Slide as a bonus! Sadly the Founders Cup Championship is the only "big" game we have to measure Hooper by. So it seems to me the only way Hooper will ever shake her Wide Right moniker is if she ever makes it into another championship game. And since it will be a cold day in hell before Canada gets to play in one... we'll have to hold our breath and see if the Beat can turn it around and prove to be more than just a one hit wonder. Ouch! Was that too much?
The game wasn't on the line but Mac's trying to save her National Team Playin' ass. She choked... wide right. If I'm not mistaken, the Freedom perty much FAILED their mission. 1 goal they had. And thanks to Carolina it was a 3-2 game. Maybe Floptops quote was right. They won it as a TEAM. Mia might be better than sliced bread but Carolina had a whole loaf. Oooh, ouch. Was that mean?

This is soccer, every game - an important one... ya don't step out on the field and say "You know, since this isn't a championship, I'm gonna lay low and play half-hearted and like I've never seen the back of the net." ....You play the game to win...period...end of story. Since this wasn't an "important" game... it must be twice as embarrassing and shameful to play so badly... ya know since there was no stress involved. Mac...Queen of Wide Right...TWO IN ONE GAME!! At least Hoop made a goal in the Founder's cup game (in the run of play, unlike :cough:MAC:cough: )... and technically, Sunny missed the first PK allowing the C'rays to gain momentum and eventually win. Since the 'Rays didn't miss any of their PK's, what happened after Sunny was inconsequential.
My point exactly! Sunny had already given the edge to the CRays. By missing her PK Hooper practically walked right over to Brandi and handed her the cup. The fifth PK for the Rays didn't even have to be taken because of Hooper. Hooper put the last nail in the coffin. Inconsequential(sp?) or not the point is Mac never choked in a big game. Hooper has. She sucks. She choked on the big stage, in front of her team. Nothing will ever change that. Just because Mac had an off day doesn't change that. Your grasping at straws trying to pawn off Hoops title. Face it she's stuck with it. All hail Queen Wide Right Hooper!!!
