The new owner of the Rock River Raptors of UIF is having a press conference to announce ownership of a new team. I don't think it's basketball, and they already have a hockey team so I believe it will be the AISL team. Also, if you look at the tiny Thunder logo at the bottom of the AISL schedule you can't make out the city name, but it looks like two names, rather than "Rockford" so I'm guessing it's "Rock River." The is 100% speculation.
Actually, to me it looks like it says ROCKF ORD. It doesn't look long enough to be "RIVER" in the second word. Anyway, it would make sense. And the Raptors play at the Metro Centre.
Per another message board, this new team to Rockford is a National Pro Fastpitch league team. The Texas Thunder are relocating to Rockford. The team owner is Bob Lowe, who also owns the Rock River Raptors.
