i play in both a mens and coed league...and we're not exactly starved for players. there's also a sizeable latino/turkish/greek population in town. then youve got all the high school players (unfortunately mostly from private schools). college kids...games at tulane are a MAJOR bonus in this dept. AYSO families. dallas played a match on this field a few months ago against a honduran team, and pretty much filled the place. for an a-league team, i think we'll do fairly well.
One, what coed team? I used to play in that league. The New Orleans team is PDL, A-league was Gamblers and Storm. The PDL team is a chance to show case the young talents coming out of the area, maybe Duane Jones will return from Clemson to play this summer. I heard that Steven Pate, from Duke, will be playing and a few other local standouts. Oh, the old gamblers and Storm drew between 1,500 and 2,000 at crappy places to play. I think Tulane will be a good venue and should be close to those numbers if they can do some decent advertising.
PDL, A-league...whatever it is we're looking forward to it. as for coed, i play with The Firm. we're the kings of D-3....pretty impressive, i know. is it safe to assume you played for panic?
If the times are good, there were about 20 people in my old dorm alone who'd have gone to about every game if it's on campus. I never did make it out to Metatrie the entire time I lived there.
