I'm a bit ahead of the curve here assuming the result of the San Jose/Mutts match. (I actually didn't mean to post this until I got the result, but I hit the wrong button.)

Anyway, guess who's back on top!

    Code:
    Team GP	Pts.	PPG
    New England	18	35	1.94
    FC Dallas	18	34	1.89
    Chicago 21	36	1.71
    San Jose	20	34	1.70
    DC United	19	29	1.53
    Los Angeles	19	28	1.47
    Kansas City	20	29	1.45
    MetroStars	19	25	1.32
    Columbus	19	21	1.11
    Colorado	20	21	1.05
    Real Salt Lake	19	16	0.84
    Chivas USA	20	12	0.60

This just makes me feel much worse about Friday. I almost wish I didn't go (except I only get to see the Revs live twice a year).

ok let me restate what i said earlier, it doesnt matter we are still on top

and let me take the PPG and apply them to my statement about the east being superior

    east has 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th = 33 pts
    west has 2nd, 4th, 6th, 10th, 11th, 12th = 45 pts

not as big a gap, but still clearly showing us our division as better

Wrong approach. This was the underdogs' weekend. One chance for all the bottom-feeders to feel like they don't really suck that bad. Everything goes back to normal beginning on Wednesday.

At lease we can hope so. Who wants to see Chivas USA play the Crew for the MLS cup?

OK, help me out here - that's relevant because... what?

I believe we're dealing with apple stats vs. orange stats here.

(Apologies in advance if this was a joke and I missed it. It's late and I'm tired.)

Interesting to me is that because of the number of games played, SJ actually have the potential to end the season with more points that Chicago. If each of those teams were to win all of their remaining matches SJ would have 70 points and Chi would have 69.

To fuel the "which conference is better" debate here is the complete list of potential points:
    77 NE
    76 FCD
    70 SJ
    69 Fire
    67 DC
    67 LA
    65 KC
    64 Mutts
    60 Crew
    57 Rapids
    55 RSL
    48 Chivas

Let me re-phrase. I only get to see them LIVE twice year. I'd kind of like to see the full squad in all of it's glory instead the freakin' goats playing out of their minds. If you only saw the Revs twice a year, would the USL version of the Revs be the show you went to see? Let Bizzarro MLS happen somewhere else next year. I'm 0-2-1 going to HDC, it is getting annoying.

OK, I only just figured out that you were at the match live. I'd be pretty p'd off too.
