I saw this on a football site, this guy is a mid-fielder and he's arrived in the UK and begins a weeks training trial with us, never heard of him myself, anyone else got any info about him? Mitsuo Ogasawara

He's very talented playmaker who is pretty much a first teamer in the Japan side. imo, the best midfielder in the J-league at the moment. All sort of clubs ahve show interest in him, Lazio for example. As someone else said, he's extremely good at set pieces, is very creative and can pass with both feet. Downside is that he's small and not very athletic, kinda like Yossi.

Thing is we already have Benayoun who currently plays on the right for us. Unless Pardew is going to change formation to five in midfield so that both Yossi and Mitsuo can play in the same side, I don't really see how it would work. I can't see him playing in CM either.

I would be delighted if he signed for us though. Our squad is very thin and any addition would be welcome, especially in midfield.

In order for Mitsuo to get a game I think AP would simply play him and NRC in center with Yossi and Ethers playing wide. As things stand we only really have Mullins and Dailly as holding, tackling midfielders and they are both utility players i.e. jack of all trades, master on none. Noble, NRC and Fletcher all like to get forward.

With this in mind perhaps AP will signing him (pending a good trial and fitness) and worry about the formation later.

I read on another board that he was left footed. Maybe is being considered as a backup for both etherington and Yossi.
