I was looking at some YouTube comments on Michael Bradley's goal against Russia and I saw some one call him, " a bald-headed legend for the U.S..."

    Then it struck me...

    The Bald Eagle.

Yes? No? Trying too hard? Should we stick to General Bradley/Junior?

Sorry, you're in the wrong thread. This is for NICKnames. The thread you're looking for is down the aisle, right in the Nit-Picker section of Yanks Abroad...

FWIW, I think that nickname screams "trying too hard".

It doesn't really work as Omar Bradley was a plodder, so the nickname better fits somebody like Beckerman.

Michael Bradley is more of a Patton.

Nicknames don't work in soccer. The goal is to be known by your last name and go by one name.

    Bradley.

Maybe one day when people just mention Bradley they'll know who we're talking about.

Well it works for some countries.

Argentina for example LOVES to handout nicknames to its players. El Piojo Lopez, El Payaso Aimar, El Conejito Saviola, El Muneco Gallardo, El Burrito Ortega, La Pulga Messi, etc.

    90 minute Mike, or MB90.

    I don't see why a nickname can't be a bit derisive.
