Ha ha. There's talk about de Zerbi taking over who's team Marseille has just been thrashed 5-0. Will the Spurs board never learn? Just why the hell would we want him?Too many managers have been sacked and we're paying for it. I don't know what to say on this situation.

De Zerbi is out at Marseille. I haven’t paid attention thought his name was mentioned after or before Ange.

Tell me why we'd want him. He didn't qualify for the last 16 of the CL, his team was walloped 5-0 by PSG. He's rubbish. I give up with this board.

    Bet on Spurs? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I know little or nothing about the names I've seen out there. I wouldn't be surprised if that new assistant coach they brought in takes over for the rest of the season. Who would want to come to Spurs now?

Heitinga? Sherwood, I think, has suggested that the most likely scenario, which sounds reasonable to me.

Since we moved into the new stadium, which was going to be a 'game-changer' according to Daniel Levy, we have plowed through 6 permanent managers in 7 seasons:

Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte, Ange Postecoglou, and Thomas Frank. Only one of those, Ange, has completed a full season.

    From the club's statement:

Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together.

This ownership, board, and recruitment team are a joke. What support? They did nothing in the window.

They bought another CM to go alongside Bentancur, Palinha, Sarr, and Bissouma, and didn't address the complete lack of creativity at CAM.

To succeed, Spurs need to employ a top manager and back them in the market.
No fannying about trying to predict who is going to be hot shit, or is 'up and coming'.
Get an already proven winner and back him.

I don't even know who I want to take over. I wanted Glasner and now I'm uncertain. Unai Emery and I couldn't care less if he's ex Arsenal.

    Alonso
    Poch
    Di Zerbi

    I'd take Alonso or Poch.
Either of those, if backed properly, would get us up there or thereabouts.
Poch only didn't succeed at Spurs because he wasn't backed financially when the squad needed a refresh.

Di Zerbi is a bit of a loose cannon imo. He went off the boil somewhat towards the end of his tenure at Brighton. I can't be arsed with managers actually wedded to their way of doing things in spite of all the evidence in front of them

Unai is a great coach. Villa are at the very uppermost limit of FFP. They are pretty much as successful as they can get, because outside of Birmingham/the Midlands they have almost zero fans. I've never seen a Villa shirt in London.
I'd have Mr 'Good Ebening' in the mix for the job, especially if he was available.

As it stands, Alonso is available and free.

True. Emery has had to sell without replacing properly. Tammy to replace Duran in the form he was in? Relying on Sancho and Bailey? It's remarkable how high up they are

Ange. Hear me out. Not as a manager, but as Director of Football with absolute decision making authority. After listening to some of the excerpts of his interview yesterday he fills a gaping hole the club has had for decades. He’s got the pedigree and desire to win things, he’s a great culture builder (it seems most players still miss him despite the terrible results) and he’s pragmatic, none of that silly "we’re going to compete on all fronts”, when we can’t compete on one. I don’t think he’d be above hiring the right people and letting them do their job – basing that on how he didn’t bring in his own coaching staff, but chose to work with the existing team when he was hired.

Yes, he was tactically out of his depth in the Premier League, but I think he understands football better than anyone in the front office. Low bar, but I’d rather have Ange than Vinai.

That statement makes no sense. How can someone who was out of his depth in the PL build a PL team?

    LOL.

However, if you bring in a Big Sam, you need to give him time, because he has a history of turning teams around, but he needs about 10 games for his methods to take root. We only have 12 games left.

Remember, at his last job at Leeds, he came in with 4 games to go and couldn't save them from relegation; it was too short a time.

Disclaimer: I don't want him btw.
