Just got a post card from England-Direct about their new home kit launch taking place this spring/summer. This will be the 03-05 home kit. Any ideas on what it might look like?

From what I've heard the red stripe will be gone and, for the first time, there will be a star under the badge.

    From England-Direct website

"Polyester body with pinhole mesh at sides and lumbar region to transport perspiration away from the body. For the first time ever the shirt carries a label with the launch and expiry date, and a holographic badge to show the authenticity of the shirt..."

Full details to be released March 25. You can pre-order now, official release date is April 2.

Thats not new. I'm wearing the 01-03 version now, and theres a holograph and red tag with "kickoff" and "full-time" dates on it.

there was a pic of Beckham on skysports.com today wearing the shirt. you really couldn't see it since it was mostly a head shot of him at a press conference, but the white jersey looked to have a red stripe on the shoulders that meets below the neckline and then the badge is in the center. couldn't tell anything else.

I think it looks alright, but I'd like to see the gold star near the badge, not on the sleeve.

I think the new England shirt looks good... the main side, though. The "reversed" side is pointless and it looks like it belongs on a tennis court.

Dont forget, the American pair in the doubles at Wimbledon in 96 wanted to wear the England kit, but where turned down. Sorry, cant remember their names. But they did get a solid fan base after that...

I do like the new England shirt, though I would have preferred the crest to be over near the shoulder, rather than in the centre of the shirt.

    dark side of the moo

probably the Jensen Bros. I saw them wearing the '94 Adidas USA kits that year too.

As far as englands shirt, I don't like how the stripe around the collar runs into the badge.

I think it looks good, not as good as the old one. I don't like the collars, and i wish the star was near the badge it looks out of place on the sleeve. Does anyone know how the numer on the front will look, i think it's going to be like 98 where it was on the belly, not the chest, that may not look to great. But all and all the main side with the red stripes on the shoulders looks sharp, 'course it all depends on if they win in it or not. if they don't win, who cares what they were wearing. ;)

Thats pretty much why I wish the badge was over the shoulder, rather than on the chest. Blending the stripe into it would look really wierd, so they couldnt do it!

cjma77, if we put the star near the crest, then it would look like us being pretentious. And since we English are allways modest...

The new shirt is alright, but I agree the previous one was much better. God forbid they keep it.

But what about the new keeper's shirt? A bit on the Jerry Garcia side.
