PUMA Announces Partnership with Palermo Calcio PUMA has entered into a new long-term partnership with the Italian Serie A football club US Città di Palermo, one of Italy's most symbolic football clubs. This new partnership is another strong addition to our football portfolio, as PUMA looks to continue to expand our presence and visibility in key football markets. US Città di Palermo will be a key communication asset for PUMA Italy. PUMA will be responsible for the development of all official performance playing kit and all training and leisure apparel of the senior and youth teams, starting from 2012/2013 football season. In addition, PUMA will also acquire the master license for the brand U.S. Città di Palermo. Palermo formed in 1900 as Anglo Panormitan Athletic and Football Club and has had various names before assuming its final form in 1987. Palermo has played in all the professional ranks of Italy throughout its history. Following the club's return to Serie A in 2004, it has become one of the most prominent teams in Italian football. Andrea Rogg, General Manager of PUMA Italy, said: "We are extremely pleased to have agreed this new partnership with Palermo Football Club, a prestigious team that in addition to its strong heritage in Italian football, shares with PUMA the same values, excitement and love for sport". The new Palermo Club Football Kit will be launched by PUMA in advance of the 2012/13 football season.
Hopefully there is good money involved.. and that it will be reinvested in the club, not the owner's pockets.
