I struggle to believe all the this is really a surprise to those involved. Bez certainly communicated to ownership somewhere in the process and most likely in the early stages because thats what professional's do especially when running in the circle of billionaire owners. Instantly, they would have started to consider what happens if Bez leaves and they needed to reconfigure the leadership. We also know that the team leaked this when THEY wanted it to come out essentially hence the replacement already lined up. If they were caught of guard they wouldnt have Tall locked and loaded instantly. To me this screams of something that has been in the works for a few weeks minimally so none of the changes were surprising to the leaders involved.
Yep, this is how serious, well-run organizations function. Everything gets done behind closed doors and the public finds out on your schedule. It's basically the opposite of how the other pro franchise on Nationwide Blvd functions, which is constantly in chaotic flux.
Now Morris is/will be gone... Probably should tell my wife not to renew our season ticket memberships for next year... Plus, I am driving to Miami for the Crew v Inter (Messi-less) Miami... Maybe I should sell my tickets (at a loss)... #depressed
That said, I have never been to Miami. And the last time I was in Florida was at Disney World in 1978. So, I will still go to the Inter-Miami v Crew match. (Plus, I am going to a Marlins game the afternoon of the soccer match). So, sarcasm above aside, @Bill Archer is right. No plans to cancel season ticket memberships. Go Crew! Though, sad to see Bez and Morris leave, but I wish them the best.
Anyone know what I should expect at meet the team on Wednesday? Taking my kid but not sure what to expect/plan for. TIA
See attached with the player autograph stations. Players signing from 6-8. Cucho, Matan and Ramirez at the same location. Woof. Pack a sandwich for that line.
Prohibited Items: • Lit candles or other flames • Open Flames I suppose if you have to ask, you don't really want to know.
Yeah, I just saw that email come though, but thanks. So, bring something to get signed. Players will have their own sharpies, we cannot bring sharpies in. Anything else I should be aware of? Unfortunately I think my kid really only cares about Cucho, and maybe Nagbe, so I'm guessing I'll be in a loooong line. most of the evening
Yeah we got Cucho last year and we were like the last ones before they were about to cutoff the line. It was just waiting in line but you can get kids in line buy a snack then rejoin them. There were food vendors and Kona ice was one of them.
So they'll have to change the name to BetMGM Club? They surely can't change the sleeve logo at this point in the season. Well OK maybe they could but I can't believe they'll do it before next season.
If this was the NHL ... especially the Canadian teams that are very connected to gambling, "Come on down to the team shop, bring your jersey and we will replace the old gambling logo with the new one ... free of charge!"
They changed the team logo twice during the season. Hell, how long did it take Eloy Room to get a jersey that wasn't a roundel? If I remember it correctly, the players were actually being supplied by the team shop. I wouldn't be surprised either way...but I wonder what they'll do with the jerseys already on the racks. Probably sell them at full price, because of course.
I have Fan Duel and Draft Kings and much prefer Draft Kings as they give me WAY more free / protected / fun bets. I use FD for longer-term bets as their lines are generally better, though. I'm going to miss tipico's bet and get $5 for every crew goal promotion. Last year we were making $10-15 in free bets a game plus winning the ML, regularly.

The FO still has a few dumb ideas left https://www.news5cleveland.com/spor...-and-how-soccer-might-be-part-of-future-plans Open Cup game in Cleveland, sure. That CCC game no.
Mark it down: The Columbus Crew will play a home game at Browns Stadium in 2025. Probably not an MLS match, but a meaningful match will be held there. What an epically un-Massive idea.
For those who may not know, Josh Glessing is the Columbus Crew President of Business Operations. Kristen Bernert's old job. And he's just desperate to move Crew games to Cleveland.
Glessing is also the Cheif Strategy Officer for Haslam Sports. He may live in Columbus, but his heart is in Berea.
