If I walk a mile along a busy city street, I'm probably better off not knowing how many times I'm on camera. Banks have them, of course. Police cars are just some cars with dash cams. There might be a random motorcyclist with a GoPro. Other businesses undoubtedly have cameras. Traffic cameras are there for traffic, but I'm sure we've all been seen on one just crossing the street. For his benefit, I did hear the QR codes at menus are starting to revert back to physical menus...part of the reason being is that people want an excuse to look at something beside their phone. Then again, we probably all have those shopper cards. We've been tracked in stores since those things came out. Then you get to the checkout and unless you pay cash for everything...well, you know drill. On the bright side, some stores employ people who have the job of returning lost keys based off the shopper cards. So...that's good. While I've never had an issue, I'm sure the scammers are spoofing the codes that change every few moments.
Watching our owners' other team vs the Bengals, and I'd like to suggest that Jimmy needs to go out and find a decent quarterback because this guy really stinks. My wife can throw a ball better than this.
Sold out Chicago. Last two games only have a handful of tickets remaining. On track for 14 straight sellouts, 15 MLS sellouts, and 16 total.
Facial and fingerprint recognition are both to be concerned about as you cannot change either. The master copy has to be stored somewhere to check against and if stolen would be a problem. Knowing this, I still.choose to use them for convenience. Google, Microsoft and Apple all have my fingerprint and facial recognition stored, as well as whoever the Crew uses. Is what it is.
Dude...we KNOW. You don't have to keep telling us. But that's the point anyway...but you don't need a ********ing smartphone to print a physical ticket or have it printed for you so that the venue can use half-century old, proven technology.
Here's my experience: I, like probably 80% of the country, have a smartphone. Personally, I don't mind the facial recognition for two reasons. One, I'm sure my face is all over everything as it is. There's cameras all over the stadium that we don't even know about. Are they recording? It's probably a safe bet. The other reason? I use several different Ticketmaster accounts. If I'm logged into one, I need to log out of it, log into my Crew account and then eventually, log into the other account. It's an annoyance and a lot easier to use my face. For whatever reason, tickets don't show up to my push notifications. With that said, if I wanted a paper ticket, I'm sure I could get one at the ticket window. At the end of the day, there's at least three different ways to get in with a ticket...and that's a good thing, isn't it?
Taylor Twellman has a 30-minute Crew-centered episode on his podcast "Offside", including interviews with Bez, Nancy, and Gressel. Calls our team his favorite to win MLS Cup, winners of the mid-season transfer window, and says other nice things about our management.
It was well produced. Most of the material is old news. The only thing I didn’t know is that we almost signed a European winger until Gressel became available. Bez said it was very close. Otherwise, it’s a full 180 from where Twellman was in 2017. Its hard for him to deny that Columbus has done well under new ownership.
Christian Ramirez looks like he has a Mikhail Gorbachev-like birthmark on his forehead, and Cucho looks like the right side of his face has a 3rd degree burn. But it’s a clever and sharp looking design, and I’ll probably buy one.
Same day they sent out emails about new field seats and a new SE Corner club. Guessing she's getting a pretty swanky new job.
It was inevitable. But she's leaving a legacy that won't disappear. In a very real sense there's not a lot more she could accomplish here.
Well said. In a sense, it's a shock, but...the expectations were met and then some. We all knew the day was coming, but it's a shame that day couldn't be further into the future. She's definitely going to do awesome stuff wherever she ends up.
Okay, she did a bang up job. She also quit less than two years into it. I’m sorry, but I don’t care who you are. There’s only so much lasting effect you can have on a complex organization in that amount of time. Thanks for the memories. Good luck in your next short-term commitment.
