Thought this deserved its own thread. The interviewer, I thought, asked the right questions and got some honest answers out of Don. Discuss.
here is the 2nd half of it http://aol.sportingnews.com/soccer/story/2012-07-21/sporting-news-conversation-don-garber-part-ii
If anything, Garber is open and honest in his answers. I like the open admission about whether the Reserve League is the best option for 18-24 year old players.
I agree with him on the (coordinated) vulgarity and I hope it gets cleaned up. I'm not talking about the fan cussing because of a bad call or whatever, I'm talking about the supporter groups yelling vulgarity in chorus, it's just so classless. The other interesting thing I've seen about supporter groups is that a number of them actually think it's 'cool' or makes them special to give the camera the bird, cuss.. try to show how tough they are etc.. that's just silly, stop acting like a 13 year old and man up. You look like a huge big fat donkey on TV when you do it and it looks bad for your city/team and for MLS.
Don’t get me started. There's a nearby city to the east that has some pretty embarrassing telecasts because of the bird. What I find hilarious about their behavior is that this club had the audacity to complain to the league about the way some guest’s supporters groups acted. Talk about throwing stones in glass houses.
