Does anyone have any new idea's that they think would go over well? Like what ever happened to the smoke machine? What else can we do to wake up the rest of this crappy fan base to get them off there hands?

Point out the armrests on either side of the seats. :)

Seriously, A smoke machine would rock some great rockings.

However, i would be willing to give up smoke for a smaller version of the confetti blasters they used to have that woudl spray confetti all over the place after most every goal.

    flares

Lots of red hot flares like you see in eastern european stands, less parents getting offended at our swearing,

It might also help if the Wizards actually made us the Official Supporters club instead of always calling us the Unofficial supports club. Fscking pratts.

    Re: flares

As some of you know I ventured into the cauldron with my 3 daughters for the first time towards the end of this season. It only took me 6 years!!

I would say that the swearing wasn't that much of an issue. No more section 135 for me.

My 11 year old loved it, my 6 year old didn't. That's my problem, not the cauldron. My 15 year old isn't a regular like the other two, so her opinion doesn't count.

The innovation of the microphones were helpful, I also think they could do a better job directing fans to sing with the scoreboard. When the US women's team played at Arrowhead they had words to very simple songs on the screen and nearly everyone joined in.

Even a simple "Lets go Wizards" on the scoreboard in a rhythmic way would be a start.

I would sit in the cauldron and yell my head off.....if their were other kids my age there (your daughter is my age).

I'll be in the Cauldron as much as I can this season, problem is that I'm up at school in Iowa 9 months out of the year and can't make it home that often limiting the number of games that I can attend. But when I am home, I will be there singing along with everyone else.

The way I see it is that one unintentional result of forming the cauldron is that it has distanced it from the rest of the stadium. It almost gives a green light to those who are more baseball like fans to keep on what they are doing(nothing), and a yellow light to the soccer fans who want to cheer but don't want to give up their seats. Because if you want to Stand, Cheer, and Chant their is a designated place for it.

    Ok, this is my idea.
A group of say 7 of us, sit in section 113 or 115. We try to liven up that section for several games. Then moving on to the next section over.

The benefits from this is that it tells people it is ok to join along with the cheers on the speakers. It will also will familiarize those people with the words of the chants that can be hard to make out over the speakers and drums.

The main obstacle that other supporters have had trouble with in making stadium wide chants is coordination. Well we that is one major obstacle that has already been tackled. We have the loudspeakers. Now the need for more voices to amplify our sound is less since we the microphones. We can now sacrifice several bodies to go out into the fold to get the rest of the crowd involved with chanting with those speakers.

It is a slow process, and each section in the stadium would not be visited in one season. But if it works then each section would not need to be visited since the those people will be amplifying the sound even more. But then again it could take more than one season, but I am confident that this would eventually work.

    How it is done.
7 people split into two groups. This splitting of groups will help to avoid the stereotype of being a group of druken idiots. Have the larger group sit towards the middle to top of where the people are sitting in the section. The smaller group sits just lower than the middle of the section. There are two reasons as to why you don't want to sit towards the front of the section.
    1. Your voices will be focused more on the crowd higher up than it would be down low where it is focuse more towards the feild. When we start cheers in the cauldron Mike, Ben, and I have to turn around so people can hear us, While if a cheer is started in the people in the first row can hear it just fine.
    2. Is the psycological insecure impact. If some comes from behind you, you feel supported by it. Why? Because you know that you are in their direct line of sight and are lessed embarassed to do something if someone you know can see you is doing it too. While the people infront of you have to make a concious effort to turn around to look at you. Which is also less likely because they risk the chance of bringing attention to themselves because they are in your direct line of sight.

Here is were I know I will catch some flack. Not all people should be decked out in Wizards attire. We should want to present the image of how casual everyday fans act at a game, not just hardcore "hooligans".

I am so confident in this plan that I will be the first to volunteer for "Operation Cresendo"

    the half line

The wizards need to formally move the cauldron from the corner that we now occupy, to the first couple of rows on the half line. This would make us so much more visable, it would reward us for being such stanch and loyal supporters and it might just make other people in those near by sections join in. I see that many people are intimidated by us and don't want to come over because it looks so clickish in our section. hell, I have friends that won't sit there because they don't know anyone and don't want to feel like a newbie. Anyone else think midfield would be a good location for us?

I don't think that will happen any time soon. People have season tickets there, and we can't just move in and bump them out. Those people would probably stop coming to games if they felt they were being treated as second rate. I wouldn't blame them. The only way we get moved onto the midfeild line is if a new stadium is built.

Spoon mentioned the chant sheet on the "official" Wizards forums, and that it would be too expensive. I was thinking about the kcwizardsfan.com (or whatever) website, and thought that if it were updated with better, more relevant content, and kept up-to-date, you could add that to the announcement made at the games.

On the site, we can have decently produced versions, whether audio or video, of the most popular and family-friendly chants being sung by sober Mystics, and a chant sheet for the amateur fan to print and bring to the games.

And once we have those produced versions, we might even be able to convince the powers-that-be to play them on Arrowvision.

    Just a thought.

That sounds like a good idea but the site in mention is never updated and has really turned into crap. That would be the easiest and most affordable for all parties is to have a chant page so people can print the screen and bring it to games with them.

Could have the front office print them and hand one to each car as it comes in the gate along with the promo stuff they always give out there anyway.

Does anyone know who owns the site? Or what the address is? I'd be happy to approach the owner of the site and negotiate either an outright purchase or at least a maintenance agreement, and help the site live up to its potential...

On the front office angle, does anyone have a *GOOD* contact within the front office that might be able to persuade/be persuaded to do that?

Chances are, if you want to take over maintenance of the Wizardfan.com site, it's yours for the taking.

Great idea but isn't this the job of our cheerleaders. Oh that's right...they aren't cheerleaders, they are a dance team. I think it would be a great idea for someone from the Cauldron to work with them to get these chants going. Any volunteers?? :)

The Wizards Girls don't like us.

I think it has something to do with their back fat.

I'd volunteer, but I'm not sure that they can do anything that requires speaking and doesn't come on an eight count.

I have a perfect chant to include them and the rest of the fans. But it is not original and the BB do it do. I think some you will know what I am getting at.
