Ohh...after an early surge by the bad guys the non-96'ers are making a comeback. Come on everyone...86 the 96!!
Voted for FC Dallas - not that it really matters to me, but 96 is not in the official name, so... Plus the only other "96s" you see (ie. Hannover 96) were established in 1896...when we have 100+ years of history, I think we can tout it
FC Dallas 96 reminds me a bit of youth soccer clubs but we need to think long term. Fifty years from now when MLS has 20 or 30 teams, FC Dallas 96 will have a nice historical ring to it.
I was thinking the exact same thing about the youth soccer clubs, but nonetheless I kind of like the 96, although I think the apostrophe should be included: FC Dallas '96. Just my .02 worth.
Yeah, the 96 is an excellent tribute - and it's original in MLS, while respecting models to aspire to. Nice point.
If the 96 is so important to Dallas fans you should have pushed for the Dallas 96ers. Either would be better than the Burn.
I likes the '96. Since we're going to be around for a long time, why wait? Plus it just sounds cool. Hate to disagree with you on your first post, but I'm glad you're here anyway. Welcome aboard.
I really don't care what it's called, as long as it's standardized as to avoid confusion. I've read on numerous websites/forums/etc that the official name is FC Dallas 96, yet on the fcdallas.net fact sheet, it says the name is FC Dallas. OT, but it's also interesting to note that they officially say that "FC" stands for Fútbol Club, as opposed to "Football", as I think many people assume it stands for (since I've seen several people accuse the name as "euro-posing" or whatever...).
