The Ordaz signing is official. $2.375M cash transfer fee, with another $500k possible if performance incentives are met. Ordaz will be a U22 player.

Adding a roof and 8,000 more seats (which is greater than the originally quoted designed expansionpotential to 25k), might get EagleBank Arena East to qualify to host a Concalaughs WC qualifier...those be some pricey tickets, though. how much you wanna bet they still wont add tailgate space...
While I’m on my soapbox, I’ll also say I’m quite dispirited by this ESPN article describing the possibility and likelihood of MLS adopting hydration (“match”) breaks permanently as a way to gum up extra revenue as part of a new broadcast deal. I have been a fan of MLS since day 1 and have held season tickets many times during the existence of this league. The simple fact that I am posting on this website (and y’all can easily see how long and how much I’ve done that) classifies me, and those reading this, as absolute diehard fans. Simply put, I will never spend a single penny or invest a single second in MLS if they choose to go this route and change the games permanently from halves to quarters. It’s a deplorable thought process and a fundamental change in the game that should never even be considered. I have begrudgingly, in every sense of the word, gone along with FIFA’s obsessive and pathetic over-commercialization of the game with their commercial breaks in indoor stadiums, in Toronto and Santa Clara when temps have been in the 50s and 60s, and in some actually wonderfully mild summer weather that many games were fortunate to have. FIFA is a money grubbing abomination and under no circumstances should MLS follow suit. As someone who renewed season tickets for years for DC United under Jason Levien I can safely say that I am not always practical with my money, time, and emotions when it comes to soccer in the US. This, however, would completely jump the shark for me and cause me to turn my back on the league completely. And if y’all thought I can be pedantic about hot dogs and social media, you’ve really seen nothing if this does come to pass. I desperately hope MLS, a league that’s often innovative and not afraid to do their own thing, can see the forest for the trees here and do the right thing.
Especially as MLS is moving to a Sep - May calendar. Like I want to sit around freezing my ass off for 6 extra minutes.
