Also of note, 4800 premium seats ($300+) And 2000 standing (still likely to be $75) Leaves 15200 selling between $125-$250 These are educated guesses on the prices(based on the survey) and thinking they are factoring in the limited supply to be able to get that much. It’s not clear to me they really know their demographic…this feels more like ‘build it and they will come’…the they being a wealthier group than makes up the majority of supporters today (again a guess based on the eye test)
They mentioned leaving a percentage of seats NOT sold as season tickets so they can always get new blood in the door. They also mentioned the supporters seats being the steepest section in the league.
Avail for $200 The survey really spooked me on what the new prices will be like…hard to image returning to being a STH or member or whatever they are calling it now.
I wonder if we are all overthinking the prices in the survey and taking them at "face value." If not, I agree with all of you.
I agree. Way too early to freak out about higher ticket prices. We know they will be higher but we also know there will special discounts to partially offset them and “clear the inventory”. My guess is that the 5,000 premium seats will generate more ticket revenue than the 15,000 general admission and 2,000 supporter tickets combined. Messi-type attractions will continue to be at premium prices. So far Joe has not acted like his main Fire focus is to make money. I do not expect this trend to change.
Clearly Papa Joe is ‘investing’ in the club and Chicago overall…pleased to see it…but the target shouldn’t be ‘but look what the Bears can charge’ … Gotta wonder how many of the current supporters will persist at $200/match.
Not my suggestion…ask D.Baldwin Take out the 15 food and 35 parking and it’s still $150 to stand Edit: hmm, this graphic from the survey is confusing…it says Supporters section and also says ‘sideline opposite team benches’
I’m fine trading the ex-urban/suburban tailgating experience for the urban confines of downtown. That feels more like soccer to me and less like driving to some stadium in the middle of nowhere like so many NFL venues. Meet friends at bars and walk over or take the train. No worries about DUI’s. This seems ideal.
The importance of a tailgate has nothing to do with food and drink. It’s the single most important tool for community building. The supporters may have been ravaged by Hauptman and Nelson but rebuilding will be infinitely more difficult without a congregation place. Support will simply become more isolated than ever. It’s not insurmountable; it’s just like kicking someone when they’re down, that’s all.
Not the same but “photos” do show a congregation area west of stadium, next to River, with tents. Presumably, this area will be used for a variety of activities, possibly including tailgating.
BYOB or not will be a critical part...$13 beers and $9 hot dogs ain't it. As well as, the 'college tent rental' thing at University Illinois UC starts at $600.
It aint' the annoyance of the worst bang for the buck player...it's just the math. For 2 people.... 2 seats @ $150 = $300 2 hot dogs + 4 beers + 2 icreamnachos + tips= $120 Parking $40 $460 *17matches = $7820 Oh wait, add $60ea for your tent fee x 17...that's another $2k Want to be a supporter? Cough up $10k Vs today... 2 seats @ $25=$50 BYOB Beer and grill $20 Parking $35 $105*17=$1785 That's a 5x increase! For some folks that means affording/attending 3 or 4 games instead of 17 As well as some will stop bringing a family of 4 to be able to 7 games a year... This isn't 'old guy can't believe what things cost these days', this is pragmatic impact of the cost to a volume of current supporters. BUT! By then Acosta will be gone and the product should be 'better'
Sorry. That was not a nice thing to say. But I am tired of hearing people complain about something that has not yet happened and not likely to be near as bad as they expect. Of course, maybe just a strategic complaint to influence the future prices.
Stupid question, but did Joe get initiated into FIFA. That survey definitely scared me with the prices. I basically said no to everything. We should have some tailgating somewhere, but they are looking to maximize revenue.
Maybe if they enough NOs they will focus more on sponsorships, merchandise sales, concessions, EtAl to generate revenue, rather than ticket prices.

Will there be any construction of a new “L” station? - No this plan does not have any new stops included. Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Will the Metra tracks have to be relocated? - No the Metra tracks on the site will remain in their current location. Good.
Other items of interest relating to parking and the approval process timetable.1) As part of the larger development, 2,000 car parking spaces will build and completed when stadium opens. 2) The development plan will need to be modified and approved by planning commission. Anticipate presentation in September with process completion in fall. ( Never like more approvals and unsure timetable when talking about something to be built.)
2000 seems woefully short for…for reference Walden Garage is 1500. Not sure what percentage of 22k should be planned for, but I’ll suggest the bare minimum is 25% (5500) and ideal would be around 50% (11000).
