Correct. NIMBYs. My understanding is that people are trying to route the dollars for the train station to an extension of the river walk. I have not seen confirmation of this.
So it sounds like there won’t be too much parking due to limited space, and some may be under ground. Honest question, will we still be able to tailgate, or are they phasing that out?

“Offering train-like reliability” Just build us trains. I don’t want “train-like reliability” -and capacity-, I want the availability and capacity of trains. I’ll take this, of course, it is literally better than nothing, but I do wonder if this is just being considered as an alternative to the additional train station that appears to have been 86’d instead of a companion.
Train projects are much more expensive, take much longer to complete, generate more initial opposition and operate at much larger deficits. Other than that….
Yeah, I mean, things that are better cost more than the alternatives, initially and long term, I just prefer things that are better. With NITA in place, I would like to think we’d be a little more ambitious, and maybe we’ll end up being more ambitious (def too early to tell) but anytime I see a BRT project touted as being “train-like” I see it as a concession. And it’s a concession I’ll gladly make, given that the realistic alternative is going to be “jack shit”, but not one I can pretend to be excited about.
