Looks like it will be U.Conn and BC from our area competing for the # 1 Ranking. U. Mass must win the A - 10 championship to get a bid. Holy Cross is a long shot and likewise must win the Patriot. Northeastern once again proved they are the best team in the America East. Ed Matz's team is 25-10-2 over the past four years in the AE. All this while coaching two teams!! Dartmouth must hope for a few things but they could also get a bid as Co-Ivy Champs.
Are you going to the UVM - Northeastern game on Sunday? Hopefully it will be as fun as the regular season meeting, but with Vermont winning. I am planning to go and then hustle home for the USMNT game. From the UVM athletics website: The Catamounts hold a 14-4-1 edge in the series between the two charter members of the conference, including four wins in the last five meetings. This is the first meeting for the two in the conference tournament. Vermont lost the regular season game with Northeastern, 4-3, in overtime at Parsons Field on October 19th. The Huskies overcame a 3-1 deficit in the final 15 minutes to force extra time. Adam Wallace scored twice and Ethan Hutchins once for UVM. Go Cats Go!!!
Holy Cross won Friday morning and plays for the Patriot League title Sunday against the Lehigh Engihawks. So the Crusaders aren't such a long shot after all...
For whatever they are worth, here is a link to the top a NSCAA top 10 ranking of New England colleges. http://www.nscaa.com/rank/20021111/D1M/NE/index.html
Holy Cross Actually, I said that if Holy Cross does not win the Patriot League Title they may not get the NCAA bid. Looks like they have a chance at winning the title!!
