He’s pointing where he wants the ball. His hand is offside. I know that’s the rule, but I don’t like it. In any case, we have Not gotten a lot of those calls even when we should have. The officiating crew were pretty good. And the TV announcers actually knew a thing or two about our team. That was a nice change. Go Quakesfans!!
That was refreshing. But their commentary was non-stop, filled with data points, like usual on the Apple broadcasts. They could let the game breathe a bit. Don't need the dopey line chart of supposed domination or the up-tot-the-moment win percentage expectancy, or the xG from Preston Judd. And the Scottish guy kept saying things were "unbelievable" in his heavy accent. I didn't believe him.
As someone who criticizes refereeing decisions so frequently it's good that you know the rule! https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-11---offside The hands and arms of all players, including the goalkeepers, are not considered. For the purposes of determining offside, the upper boundary of the arm is in line with the bottom of the armpit.
I’ve definitely seen the inside out jersey after swapping several times, going back at least 10 years..:
The sign didn’t make sense to me since the leftovers go both ways I really think it was about the locker room food
The number of people who know and study the LOTG is a very small fraction of the population who post about the LOTG. Law 11 is a great read... BTW - anybody who thinks that the announcers were spot on in their interpretations of the LOTG:
It was really hard to tell anything based on the camera angles... and the AR looked to be lined up correctly. I'm inclined to go with the pros on the field for this one.
Posted on the Revs subreddit... this looks correct to me, with the relevant points being the foot and shoulder
I watched the game late. Very solid effort from youngsters and B teamers, granted NE attack is borderline anemic, but it was awesome to see the future backline, Munie for sure MOTM, especially with two rooks on each side. Munie has locked that position down, end of story...hopefully we're transitioning to the end of this season with a lot more minutes for Floriani and Roberts with Rodrigues also in the mix...Wilson and Romney should be transitioning to back up roles. I was impressed Bruce could get that rag tag line up to play that cohesive. Imo, it points to how competitive it is to show well for playing time. Frustrating to watch Pelle squander so many golden opportunities. He can only function with time and space, when he gets that, he can pick out a nice pass, but in tight quarters he's poor. Hopefully, we play Hernan as a forward and Pelle moves down the depth chart. Overall, we're starting to see more stable performances....really want to see the young CBs come through sooner rather than later...and sort out a better more defensive option to play with Leroux in the middle...and I'm more than fine giving Rodrigues a shot at that or even Jones. We'll go as far as the defense takes us...the attack is solid.
Reid Roberts has barely put a wrong foot forward. He's just been really solid on both sides of the ball. Whether it happens this year or in the near future, that coiuld be our starting back line for some number of years. Floriani - Munie - Roberts Only thing I wonder about is Floriani on the right vs. Munie. Floriani struggles a bit with speedy attackers on the outside.
Lame, whichever way you read it. So there are four California teams, and the only rivalry is LAG vs LAFC? Pathetic.
I wrote something about this just a few days ago... Quakes need MLS in Sacramento Oakland or SF otherwise they're never going to have a "#1 rival"
MLS loves to manufacture rivalries but cares little for organic rivalries. Rivalries are something to be birthed in the boardroom, not in the stands or on the streets - too messy, and you can't control them...
The announcers were the best we've had all season and we didn't get stuck with that insipid moron Taylor Twellman.
Hard to get excited about a 0-0 game, but this was one of the best if not best game of the season. Why? Playing a make shift lineup with 9 subs from the last game, road game across country, they played a professional game and could have easily won the game. Only good teams do that. Good team defense with Muni leading the way. Agree that Marc-Anthony had his best game as a Quakes and PM played well (covered a lot of space, shot off the cross bar). Judd did mostly good things and Pellegrino was his usual frustrating self (tries to perform a chest trap which drops a year or two away was one of many examples). Nice to see Nick Fernandez start. Didn't really have an impact though. Solid contribution off the bench, although Beau didn't have his best game. I will end that Lima was very disappointing. He would get in good positions offensively, only to shank a cross or get tentative after receiving the ball. Add that he appears to be carrying too much bulk and seems slower. For his experience, I expect more from him. Although Edwards did OK this game, Daniel appears to be injury prone. Yes, he was hit, but that is kind of the nature of the position. We need to get a better backup long term. It's going to be interesting to see who plays on Tuesday. We may actually see more of our starters play...
Good question https://tacticsfreezone.substack.com/p/power-rankings-1-30-matchday-13-and?r=1089y 14. San Jose Earthquakes: How bad is the Daniel injury? The Quakes have shown they can survive without other key pieces, but if their ‘keeper is out for any length of time they’re boned.
