Revs 3, LA 2, feels good to suckerpunch someone Houston did us in the Cup :D

The Revs really need to stop the we-have-a-goal-lead-so-let-us-bunker-in-and-counter-for-rest-of-the-way attitude.

We saw this in the Columbus, Dallas, and today's LA game. And we all know how it turned out in Columbus, and the exact same thing would have happened today, if the Gal were not caught napping after the tying goal. At the last weeks' Chicago game, the Revs did manage the lead better, just because we did control the game a little and that led to the Thompson's third goal; that is what we should be doing as soon as we get a lead.

What a game. I need some sleep, so I can't debate the game. Here's what I wrote in my blog.

I'm with you, except tonight they continued to press hard for another ten minutes before bunkering down.

If it wasn't for that Marshall header, it would have ended 2-1.

Did anyone notice the Revs lost their midfield when Noonan entered the game for Cristman?

Twellman leading the league in goals, Ralston leading the league in assists.

well. what a game. the game winning goal was amazing. Seeing the confetti from the LA goal still fluttering across the screen as twellman puts it in the back of the net was great. hell of a game for the boys in blue and a well deserved 3 points for First Place in the east.

    matt reis is the greatest....ever.

that diving save he had (and i know he had quite a bit, but i'm sure you know what i'm talking about ;) ) was top notch. How do we deserve him? Thank you soccer gods.

Seven games---five on the road---14 points---top of the single table---leading scorer---leader in assists: Man is this team in trouble---we should have signed some good players from Europe or south of the Boarder :D

Doc, I like my crow served with a nice sauce.....but let's wait and see how well the depth is tested when the Gold Cup and Copa come around.

The team is playing good, Lareno has been good, and Ralston seems to have woken up. Smith is still hot-cold.

But Twellman is definitely gone for Nats camp - maybe we can survive with Noonan and Christman up top. Can we survive with Reis not in Net?

But, I do agree, and I think most people have to admit the team is scoring goals and getting decent results, something that a lot were complaining about.

Although, I believe the biggest thing people(inlcuding myself) complained about was depth. We will get a very good look at that depth come June/July.

An outstanding team effort, with some brilliant individual performances tossed in. As usual, I too blame the coach, for all the moves he made and also didn't make :D

Unfortunately the TV production/coverage absolutely sukks this year, not so much with the Revs broadcasts but especially the FSC ones.

WHY do we have to watch half the game twice or 3 times (replays) while missing out on live action?? We can always watch the replays later since most of us tape the games, as I expect most of you probably do.

I'm sure everybody is just thrilled to watch the players involved in the play that just happened, trot back upfield and spit, while wondering where the heck the ball is NOW... (you knew there'd be SOMETHING to complain about, after all we're New Englanders 'til we die.)

i couldnt agree more with you Tony. im constantly yelling at my TV that "the ball is in play!" whenever they drag out those long replay and closeups. its annoying.

but YES! it was a great game. great goal by Christman! he finally gets one in regular season time and its a beaut.

TNT is kicking ass all over the field, a great thing to watch.

Smith is putting in some really decent crosses when he beats the man (he was being a bit more patient last night too it seemes, not allways running at his man), and he has been working really hard on defense as well.

we have some great team chemistry going on here. im really liking this season so far. :D

I thought the HDnet feed was the best MLS game I've ever watched. They were well back and it was actually like being at a game.....you could see most of the field......VERY enjoyable.

This is the best balanced Rev team ever. Kahno and Cristman have helped hugely by opening space for the offense to exploit. Larentowicz and Riley have raised their game. Getting rid of Dempsey has got other players back to playing instead of watching. Now if Nicol would only switch Dorman and Ralston. Long way to go, but I'm liking our chances this year......alot.

I was thinking this was a type of game that championship teams win. Playoff teams draw this game, championship teams win it.

Couldn't agree more. Very easy on the eyes and the larger field view was great.

Best game we've played this year, bar none. Not so much because of the late-game heroics, but because of the way we moved the ball. Even when we were down 0-1 I felt like it was the best we'd played on offense all year.

Khano is Khano, not much else to say there. He wasn't fantastic but wasn't awful either. Riley was more than a bit shaky at times. In an elimination game those are the two guys that scare me the most.

I don't even know what to make of Andy Dorman at this point at the season. He's fine when he's on the ball, but for a guy in the middle of our attack he doesn't seem to have the ball much--in fact he seems to lead counters and that's about it. This isn't a criticism of Dorman so much as a peculiarity of our system.

Man oh man, are we lucky to watch Reis, Parkhurst, Joseph and Twellman on a weekly basis or what?

Finally, I think come playoff time, teams are going to know not to play against us like LA did, and take the Crew/Fire approach. The Galaxy really never forced us away from the wings and didn't pressure much in the midfield, which played right into our hands. In a weird way, I think the Revs also benefitted from going down a goal early--made us ratchet up the tempo and really get after those points.

Very nice game all around, but let's not talk about championships yet.

i just checked the tv 38 website, and the revs game isn't listed. But on a side note, it's nice that the revs get a section on the homepage of TV38 that lists their games. :)

My favorite part about last night's game was Khano Smith's "bro-hawk"

yes. the other guys on the field are no slouches either, but last night especially, those four guys were amazing.

Joseph had a great game. Parkhurst and Reis were brilliant. cant say enough good things about Taylor.

whoo! keep it up you Revs. i want the shield!
