lol Repeat "Martino, Martino, lo es. Martino, Martino, que vale" 3 times in front of a mirror and see what happens
last night i was drunk and copied the translate , it went like that. any way tata is our coach , he will manage u-20 too ..
I don't think he is going to manage the U20's, Jorge Theiler will(Which Tata will want to overlook the teams) but this won't happen until after the next U20's.
Tata is going to call up the same 23 men squad for the match against germany. Tata done a right thing . The team deserved respect. This match can be a farewell for many players such as maxi , demi, gago . Tata probably want to say thanks to all these players and start a good bonding with the team.
I heard he mentioned something about preferring his Newells style of his Barca style so does that mean a 4-1-4-1?
I really hope for once Messi will play upfront not deep in midfield as false playmaker. We have wasted his acceleration and finishing ability all these years. The last time it happened was during Roman's day but Messi has yet to become the best player yet. Its frustrating to see him receiving the ball 40 yards from the goal all day.
We probably will beat them again in friendly just like we always did. The last time we played them there we won with Di Maria scoring and assisting. Sucks he couldnt play in that final. Imagine if we beat them conviencingly with Angelito putting MOTM performance.
Its really hard to tell because Tata plays high lines with a pressing game so its very different from how Sabella played. Hes also a possession kind of coach and prefers box-to-box midfielders. I know Messi wont be playing very deep anymore but where he uses him and who plays around him will be very crucial. Idk if Lamela, Pastore or even Aguero fit in his style of play
The question is how coach will see messi . , whehter he will see him as a striker or AM. as ratlehead ppointed out , i want messi to play higher role and some one like pastore or lamela support him in the middle of the pitch
Sabella didnt use young talents during qualifier other than fielding Icardi or Lamela for few minutes. His only WC squad that below 25 was Rojo. Some player takes time to settle so it would be great if Tata started to call up younger guys as soon as possible. CONMEBOL begin after the end of next year Copa so Tata will only have friendlies for experiment. Although I think the core team for next tournament will remain the same, I'd love to see some youngster to surprise us in Copa.
I believe this is more of an AFA thing. Not really up to Tata. It's just a really odd coincidence that this friendly is set, I know it was already announced prior to the World Cup. Personally, I am done watching the team this year. They mean nothing to me, and I am sure they mean even less to the players. Waste of time to have international friendlies after the World Cup. It's FIFA and the federations wanting even more money, you'd think they'd made enough money.
You're not going to watch Argentina playing Germany? I can't wait for it myself! We needed a Tevez at the WC.
Pékerman's time had come and gone with Argentina. Great youth developer, and played some great fútbol but he never appeared to learn from his mistakes. I am glad we went with Tata, as I said, never a fan of bringing back managers for another long term. A new voice is needed. Every manager takes pieces of the previous managers strong points and uses it, and gradually starts to implement his tactics and style. I think Martino will be defensive like Sabella, but I hope the attack will be adjusted.
It would be great if he is given a role in actually the organization himself. Something greater than coaching. His time with Argentina is not done, in terms of having an affect with creating the winning attitude of the youth side he established and taking it to the next level. You may think he's done with Argentina, but the fact remains he changed Colombian football in 3 years, and he changed Argentinian youth football, something we have regressed in. I can see him as being one of the most important heads in AFA in managerial influence, an overseerer sort of role.
I would've had no problem with him taking over the youth program, that's not an issue with me. I wouldn't want him to lead us to 2018. As for him having an important role in AFA, I doubt that. And as for regressing in the youth department since his departure, it has to do with more the youngsters not being as good. As for starting to win from the youth age which will take it to the senior side. What have Pékerman's players won on the senior side? A bunch of runners-up medals? I know there are aspects of poor management and whatnot but Pékerman himself was unable to win with his youth players when he had them. I won't even mention him not taking Pupi to the 2006 World Cup. I like Pékerman, I thought he helped the kids mature quite a bit, but the only way I would ever want to see him leading any Argentine team would be through the sub team. Maybe when he is done with Colombia in 2018, he would've made plenty of money, and this would be just the right thing for him for retirement.
I agree with SM, Pekerman might be very successfull at youth level but Argentina has won that tournament before and after his departture. It has more something to do with the talents that we have at the time. Since he left Argentina has won another U20 in 2005 and 2007 plus Olympic gold in 2004 and 2008. As already been mentioned, he never learn from his mistakes. He subbed Roman 3 times and we ended giving up our lead and lost to Croatia and England in friendlies. He did that again in World cup opening game and Ivory scored and almost equalized! he never stop doing it and we lost to Germany when we have the game in our hand/ Sorry that's not a winner's mentaliity.
Argentina won two or three Youth WCs with Pekerman, for sure 2001 where Saviola established a goal-scoring record. To me, the best football Argentina has played since WC86 was in WC06 under Pekerman - what a great team he built with Riquelme, Sorin, Ayala and Crespo as the core players. He should have brought Zanetti though, that was a mistake on his part.
we could have won without zanetti. his biggest flaw is choking when he has the lead by making horrible, nightmarish subs. Sabella's subbing wasnt any good either but nowhere near as catastrophic as pekerman
