    Less than 24 hours.

I'm going to have to investigate.

I love maps. But not sure what I think of theirs. Be better if there was a mask/filter function so you could show only one league. And I can see at least one (Midland) that's a bit off the mark.

...sure hope they don't lose the links to historic data. That was really useful and interesting stuff.

Nicer looking but still very weak. USL really needs to make a good site with much more info. Finding info on USL teams is tough, so their site should fill that gap. Unfortunately the MLS site blows this away.

The only significant difference I see on MLS site is the header banner of all the teams. If this is what you speak of, then I agree that its not as easy to find teams on USL's site. However, clicking USL First Division Clubs does the trick and I wouldnt consider that tough.

MLS needs to revamp their site, it looks like a site from the late 90's.

Are you serious? Were you on the internet in the late '90s?

    Compare to nfl.com nba.com mlb.com or premierleague.com

Doesn't look much different to me. In fact, the only substantial difference that I notice is that there are a ton more ads on those first three sites.

    check this out:
    http://web.archive.org/web/20000815054213/www.cnn.com/index.html
    http://web.archive.org/web/19990420215552/http://www.mlsnet.com/

That's the internet of 10 years ago. I don't see anything wrong with mlsnet.com currently.

Also, the USL website has come far in the past 6 years: http://web.archive.org/web/20030211221546/http://uslsoccer.com/

Man you were prepared with solid proof. I was trying to be facetious but I think I failed.

I still think, regardless of other sites you listed, that mlsnet.com is boring and is in dire need of a makeover. BTW, this comes from an IT/DEV/WEB consultant for a company that tries to stay on the bleeding edge of technology. So although mlsnet.com is fine, I guess I'm looking through a microscope by habit

    Using the archive site: http://web.archive.org/web/19991013073739/http://nfl.com/

I see no real improvement tens years later on mlsnet.com, except 30-40 sec video clips on the rotating content area.

I'm not making too much of a fuss about functionality but usability and design aesthetics.

Well, yeah, but you have to think of what the purpose of the site is. Sports leagues' sites are almost like news sites. They don't really need cutting edge crap. They just need the information displayed in a nice, efficient manner. I don't think the sites look that outdated.

In fact, some of the latest crap can get in the way of ease of use.

I like the knew advert platform "Play with Pashion". That to me is the USL in a nut shell indeed. The majority of the players, the FOs, the Supporters, everybody involved in USL seemingly brings their full energy and commitment to whatever it is they are about, on the outside at least.

And even though all of these are small in numbers they know how to make their pressence felt both in ,and beyond, their respective club's sphere of influence.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. USL+ mas $ = a better league than MLS and maybe, just maybe, in a few years or so my notion might be proven correct. :D

I'd be much more impressed if they did something with this: http://usllive.com/

They realize there are games in three days, right?

Nice upgrade, but it still needs a bit of polishing. I'd give the new site a B-.

MUCH better on the yes. The green previously was dreadful. I think you guys are being a bit harsh, in comparison to the previous site, I think it looks much better. And what do you expect a full flash, like floating rectangles going across the screen!?

Like come on.... props to USL for it.

You forgot to add that in addition to having lots of passion and energy, they work for peanuts or, if they are ownership, they sometimes try to pay with peanuts. ;)

Looks like the new USL website has provided an improved presentation for the brand across the divisions. This especially assists the pdl individual websites many of which are simple additions to the connected youth links......
