This was emailed to me by a season ticket holder. "The Rapids last night held a season ticket holder/supporters group only function last night at the Pepsi Center and the team unveiled the new kits....but as you can see the shorts are not complete yet from Adidas, also absent is the sponsor, that's if they use a sponsor. Kinda has that West Ham feel."
Uh oh....... Looks like the supporters failed the Front Office "trust test" that has spawned 3 pages of discussion on the Rapids board.
Yeah, West Ham maybe more a traditional Burnley with the claret sleeves aswell. It looks good, but I don't know what was so wrong with the Inter lookalike kits.
The Rapids are obviously working their way through every possible color. The only two left are yellow and purple?
Really? I like the blue, maybe. But the claret is like watching paint dry. I have an old Phillies jersey from the 80's that looks just like it. Maybe a shirt sponsor will liven things up.
I think a sponsor with the uniform is a must for it to be more "authentic". As we all know, it takes time for new colors for teams to sink into the fans brains, right?
Does the new Colorado home kit look sorta like this version of La Vinotinto? Or this version of La Vino********? I kid.
They need alternate shorts and socks. I wish MLS teams would wear their primary colors at home and then the away team adapts. It makes it easier to watch and mixes things up for the away side. I know some teams like LA do this, but my Revs didn't wear blue shorts in NY and Columbus wore black shorts in DC. There are other examples.
Very well-done uniforms. I like the light blue away. It's nice to have a little variety for the away uniforms instead of white, white, white....
A season ticket holder emailed you that? Not to be rude but how do we know that's the case? Could it be their marketing group tried getting the photo out in a low-key way for some guerilla marketing. IIRC Plush did mention that things are getting more fractured in media and the team was trying to find ways for one on one marketing.
I really like those a lot. I'm a big fan of that maroon color. If I were a Colorado fan, adidas would be making my wallet a lot lighter. Side note: Is the guy in the suit hitting on the players?
Reguardless of if it is real or not, I do like the look. Then again, I am partial to West Ham United, so that could play into it somewhat. I just hope that they get that hidious neon green GK so we have something to laugh at (I mean, besides the Usual)
