So with our wonderful brain dead of a coach failing to qualify and meet his contract requirements, I am curious of what rumors for our new coach could be. I am still personally hoping for Pekerman considering how bad he's been with Venezuela who are more than likely to let him go and his familiarity with us could put us and the newer players back on track.
I don't think we should go back to Pekerman, we was better then the rest but his process fell off a lot and he wasn't fostering the new generation and was falling back on the guys who did well into 2014. I'm gonna stick with what I wanted previously and say Gareca, just continuously doing a good job and getting the most out of his team. Not sure who else, but please for god sake lets get a coach who won't be a coward and will try to play.
AFA youth tournaments AFA Professional leagues we can blame the players, coaches, managers and we may be right but by just making a simple comparison with Argentina for instance, we can see how far we are from having a NT that can win at least a Copa America. Our league teams suck, our youth NTs suck, our senior NT sucks. We could have all the conditions that a country needs to become a team that can even compete for wining a WC and we actually have some of them, but hiring a good coach for our NT will not solve the true reasons for the crisis in the Colombian football, namely the lack of a real structure.
Nothing, but he'd be a good option if it was possible. No idea who's available, but our talent pool should still be a decent draw to managers.
The thing is that we have no games if relevance upcoming. Don't know why a coach of merit would want to come off cycle?
A lot of teams didn't make it through and there has to be coaches that will either resign or get fired. Ideally friendlies will still be around and a new coach is still possible this year
Well also to consider is money... After spending 4 milion on Quieroz and 1 million on Rueda, does the FA even have money to spend on a quality coach? We may have to get Eduardo Lara if they have no money. I mean players are still flying Avianca plus for god sake.
I am hoping Marcelo Bielsa. He's affordable and has a good reputation when it comes to his character as a whole.
Seems like a reasonable guy when it comes to negotiations. Lol but in all seriousness, I don't know what the cap is for Colombia to pay a coach. Pekerman I know was around 3. Quieroz being around 4, the highest, have we ever paid more?
I'm not sure, but for Quieroz, if I remember correctly they had to pay him in US Dollars, and converting CP to 4 million USD is a task it self with the commission fee's added to it, and I'm fairly confident the only reason why Colombia FA even had that money was due to commercialization of the success from World Cup tournaments(prize money, and donations included) I personally would love Gasperini, but in all reality the coach's are going to be lower pay scale in my opinion. A coach from the youth teams Rafael Dudamel Juan Carlos Osorio Ivan Cordoba(maybe wants a shot) Bollilo Maturuana or an Argentine coach from a lower tier team in Primera Division Argentina. as much as I would like Bielsa Tata Martino Unless the fed has more money than I expect, I highly doubt we can afford it...
What do you guys think of Costa Rica's coach Suarez? A quick search, he has had some really good moments but also some really bad ones too. I mean Costa Rica haven't qualified but they are in a playoff. Cheap options? I'm guessing someone like him wouldn't be too expensive but it might more of the same of what we always get.
I saw that too, absolutely Bielsa would be a god send if we could get him. Bielsa would be perfect, amazing coach, knows the region and is available. Bielsa will make this team be night and day, will have us pressing and attacking like crazy, I'd imagine Diaz and Sini would thrive under Bielsa. The good thing about Bielsa is he will make our players a lot better, the guy is one of the best coaches of the generation and he would be worth the money if we can get him and I'd imagine we instantly under Bielsa would move back to 3rd in the region and playing a progressive style.
We didn't make the world cup and don't have a major tournament coming to provide tv or major sponsorship money... Where do we think this is gonna come from?
Rumors for Biesla already coming around. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.el...bielsa-condiciones-para-ser-el-tecnico-662255
I heard from colombian journalists unless the situation has changed probably one of the fa's in the America's with the most cash Could be wrong though
Reports indicated that FIFA gave Colombia FA 8 million USD after official elimination. should be enough to hire a decent coach for 4 years
You get prize money for not making the show? Or are those our share of the tv and gate revenue of this process? In which case, a lot of that money so goes to pay CQ and Rueda? Link would be appreciated. (I hope this is true)
everyone gets money being part of fifa. I think the distribution percentages are based on your rankings, and federation rank. so nations like Tahiti don’t get the same amount of funding. Anyways this money will have to cover mayores, sub 20, 17, and 15. https://www.comutricolor.com/selecc...f-para-aliviar-la-eliminacion/?outputType=amp

Thanks for the link. According to that it went to all the teams so it's not like we'll be any more economically competitive for having it relative to other countries. You'd hope that having sold our players privacy privacy to Amazon the FA does have some money left over after the disaster of having to pay out when we fired Quieroz...
