knapp covers soccer for the northwest indiana times paper... and whoever else they are associated with she appears to write all the articles on that site... nice find
used to; she hasn't done anything there this past season; I did see something by her someplace else, but I don't remember where; I'm pretty sure she's not with the times any more
See Billy now, what you need to have happen is that you need to hook up with this girl. Get married and you gusy can merge the Firealarm and chicagosoccernews.com together.
i had no idea... i haven't been looking for articles the past year or so... so i hadn't taken note (merely assumed no one looked there anymore) as i recall, she pretty much only did it for home games anyways
she did cover some for the times this year, but they were limiting the amount of space that they alloted for the Fire. Also, she filled in for Kent McDill a couple of times for the Herald.
it appears they do more with the women's side of the ball... but perhaps they are branching out with the two other ventures (chicago and nyc)... either way... it looks good i have known of the bigapple site... they have michael lewis (formerly of sports illustrated and i belive still with a new york city newspaper... can't recall which one though)... but the chicago one is new to me both appear to hit the college game heavily... the chicago one didn't have any us national team stuff (or i missed it)... but i'd imagine that will change with time again... good stuff
Agreed. the Linda Cuttone/Sportsvue photo credit is a giveaway. Linda's husband Charlie has edited a variety of soccer and sports magazines over the years and they have been moving into web design over the last couple. BigAppleSoccer is a Michael Lewis vehicle backed by Sports Vue. Looks like Sports Vue is trying to franchise a local/national idea.
http://www.sportsvueinternet.com/company/cuttone1.htm Their portfolio lists BigApple, but not yet the Chicago site. Probably not up to date: http://www.sportsvueinternet.com/portfolio/
I had the same thought, but if you click on the 'incorrect' logo, they have the right one displayed on the page. Kind of wierd.
FYI, that will be added to this site this weekend: www.geocities.com/mlslinks/chicagofire.html www.geocities.com/mlslinks/ If it is missing other relevant Chicago Fire Soccer Links, please let me know. Thanks.
how about adding the direct link to the section8chciago.com forum? http://www.section8chicago.com/phpBB2/index.phpAnd for merchandise (coming real soon): http://www.section8chicago.com/merchandise2005.html Although a general link to the home page also works for both.
Here's a link to an article on the Sport's Vue site about them launching the Chicagoland site. http://www.sportsvueinteractive.com/
I can do that later this weekend. Thanks. Let me know if more should be put on there. edit: forum page has been added to http://www.geocities.com/mlslinks/chicagofire.html Is the Merchandise page temporarily down or under construction? It is unavailable to me.
One question in terms of the original topic. Does Northern Illinois not get any pub? They have both men's and women's in the MAC, correct?
