Hey all...I don't have the physical copy yet, but I've been listening to a streamed promo version of The Complex, the second album from the guys most people know mostly from those Intel commercials.

It's pretty darn good. There's a track with Tracy Bonham on vocals that rocks hard. The Dave Matthews track is okay. And a little more of the humor from the stage show built into it ("Rock concert basic movement one: the one-armed fist pump. Ready, go.").

Anyway, the CD is in stores today, so I thought I'd do my part to hype...I mean...help out.

I haven't heard much of there music but would love to see one of there shows. Sadly, I can't see myself getting out to Vegas anytime soon and the tix are 80 bucks on top of that. Do they release any video's or what that be a kind of commiseration goal for not seeing them live?

They're not just in Vegas. They have shows in Chicago, New York and Boston as well, only not quite as *big*, and not with Tim Alexander from Primus in the backup band. Not cheap here, either, but you can try for those half-price day of show tickets.

Where do they play in Chicago? Did you see them there?

Thier show is awesome, definitely worth seeing. Actually, they play in more places than Vegas, or at least they used to. Both times I saw them was in NYC, right near the Village. I even got to be a part of the show the 2nd time :D

That being said, I'm not sure how a cd from them will work. They are more of a visual act IMO.

They used to (still might) have shows at the Briar St. Theater. It is easily one of the best shows in an medium that I have ever seen. I saw it with a large group of family members ranging from 10 to 80 and everyone loved it. There is something primal to the beats that everyone can get into. A week following the show I went out and bought their CD "Audio," and as soon as I get the chance I will go out and purchase "The Complex." If you haven't seen them, go.

The visual aspect of the show is the actual show, but the music is great. I like to drive and study to it because it can provide energy when you blast it, and is nice background music when played softly.
