Don't get me wrong. Most of the new Adidas kits are an upgrade over the past ones but the lack of templates is kinda evident this year. I saw the new bayern home and keeper kit today and it gave a bit of hope that the next round of kits (chicago, metros, la) may not all have to have the three stripes and might be a little more intresting. Any thoughts?

Take away the T...Com and you've got a cool retro jersey. I'd be happy if a MLS club picked these up.

First off, Oliver Kahn looks like a 70s porn mogul.

Secondly, those look like referee jerseys. And 1970s referee jerseys at that.

I hate the shoulder stripes. Glad to see them go.

And as a LA fan, I like the overall design of the top because we have a sash and the current kit adidas gives teams really screws up the sash (see River Plate now and compare to older kits they had)

Well, wasn't there a time when the German national team jersey did not have any stripes on it at all, even when made by Adidas?

I agree, I am starting to dread Adidas, in fear of how our jersey will look next season, I will feel a lot better if there are no stripes.

Especially since all the teams' kits will be done by Adidas, I think its best if Adidas have at least two or three teams whose jersey doesn't include the 3 stripes; Galaxy, Fire, and the Revs.

The outfield kit looks nice, neat and tidy but I'm inclined to agree with Bacchanal about the 'keepers jersey. It belongs on the ref'.

I personaly think that the keepers shirt looks like a rugby shirt. It just seems strange that adidas had their shark kit and nike the 2002 world cup kits with lots of empahsis on breathability and these at least appear to be thick.

Actually since we are talking about kits now, has anyone else noticed that keepers have been wearing strange kits? Like the Dallas keeper wearing the grey away kit and I could have sworn I saw the new england keeper wearing the practice shirt in goal. Hopefully Adidas can come up with at least one unique keeper shirt per team. This has always pissed me off about Nike with the big cclubs in europe.

I did, and I get tired of seeing every 'keeper wear a shirt that is either orange or partly orange. It would be nice if it was only worn by a few teams, but when most of the adidas teams wear them, it starts to look ugly.

I'm not sure about this, but I thought I heard Nike raised a stink to FIFA about Adidas using the 3-stripes because the outfitter logos are regulated to be a certain size on the chest of the shirt, but the 3-stripes on the shoulder gives Adidas an advantage over Nike to displaying their brand identity outside of the limits set by FIFA.

Maybe these new Bayern shirts might be the result of that.

I remember. KAPPA, Hummel, Puma ect... all had logos. That ran down pant/shirt. It might not have been jersey. Come to think of it.

I thought that all that stink Nike raised was over olympic uniforms. Adidas did get in trouble with the NCAA a few years back because their logo was too big on their Jerseys

Don't forget the Umbro shirts of the mid seventies and again about ten years ago which had the diamond logo repeated all down the sleeves and shorts. Maybe Nike could do a similar thing with the swoosh?

I really like the new bayern kits , Some kits are getting way too fancy and I like that Adidas just went with something simple

    These look nice to me.

I just hope that Adidas makes keeper kits available for sale, even in small quantities. A good goalkeeper is so important, and so many of my favorite players have been keepers...
