For all you Jersey geeks like myself, the new away shirt will be introduced june 23rd, with a launch of July 17. It's black and should look pretty sharp with the gold badges. it looks like kitbag is now handling their megastore.
There is a picture of it in the latest Eurosport (Mia Hamm on the cover). It does look pretty good. In that issue, they also show some (if not all) of the stuff that will be sold on the US Tour. They have a logo that says Manchester United US Tour 2003 (or something to that effect), and the shirts of the cities listed on the back. They also have hats and a few other items for the tour.
i saw it in the catalogue too, but im not sure if theyd put it in the website yet if it hasnt been released. you can check out the site, www.soccer.com
I'm gonna play with my scanner tomorrow and see if I can get a good scan in. However, I cannot host the image if I get a good one. If anybody wants to host it once I get it, let me know.
Why play with your scanner, when I already posted the page from Eurosport on another thread. Click on the following two links: A Small View. A Bigger View. This one could take sometime to download via dial-up. I also provide a link to the image, if you want to download and get a better look with another program. Where I originally posted: new jersey thread.
the away one looks awesome, but im bout to get myself the man utd vodafone t shirt, iwas wondering if they had something like that.
I think I'm going to get the new Black Away kit with "O'Shea" and the FA Championship badges on it when it's released.
NOW i'm excited, My wife just pre-ordered my RUUD new away shirt with the Champs badges for Fathers day.....see how good it is to be MARRIED!
Last year Well, what I remember is that exactly one year ago, the new Nike home kit with name and numbering pre-ordered for 35 pounds. This year? 50 quid (yeah, I think that's the word the Brits use, right?!) Stupid Kitbag. Together with shipping and the weak US dollar, my entire order will cost no less than 100 bucks. *Sigh* . . . who told me to be a Manchester United fan?!
I just realized 50 pounds converted to USD is $84.25, or 71.57 Euro. This is a conversion rate of 1.685 between the pound and the dollar. When the shirt was 35 pounds last year, it was 50 USD or 54 Euro (I think, if I remember right). 50/35 = 1.42. How times change . . .
You know, the more I think about it, the more I believe Kitbag's ripping us off. Numbered shirts sold during pre-season*should* sell for a lower price, for the simple reason that we don't know for sure who's gonna be in the team next year and what numbers they'll actually wear. For example, last year they were selling the Ferdinand 5 and Blanc 6 shirts but of course it was all wrong and if I were one of those poor guys, I would feel extremely silly wearing a these on the streets. And right now, who's gonna gamble on buying a Beckham number 7 shirt? And who knows what number John O'Shea will wear next year? Wes Brown? Silvestre? Ferdinand (I know he wants the number 5, but will he get it?)? And can you be 100% sure Giggs will still be with us next season? I would hope so, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. In fact, I wouldn't even bet my 100 dollars on a Giggs 11 shirt right now. And how about Barthez 1? Will it actually be a Howard 1 instead? ;-) (don't get me wrong, Barthez is my hero, but I'm also excited at the prospect of having an American in the team) To summarize, I believe Kitbag has overcharged the new away kit.
The official website has pre-orders of up to size XXL, but as you probably know, that equals XL in American sizing.
coolness... I did try on the Blue Nike XXL Man U replica in your Manhattan store. It did fit me, but it just wasn't what I wanted at the time.
