I know alot of people here have a problem with Bergin and his site, but if for nothing else but discussion purposes: Someone over on Bergin's site has this 3-team trade going down later this week:

    Revs get: Allocation (JMM)
Metros get: 2nd round pick from NE and Vaca
Dallas gets: Matt Reis and Andy Williams

The poster also mentioned an English winger set to be picked up by the Metros via discovery.

Thoughts? I wouldn't mind this trade one bit, and it seems pretty fair to all involved.

we lose an allocation and williams
we get vaca and 2nd round pick next year

seems like an ok trade but i was expecting the metros to use their allocation.

vaca can be good at the wing and picking up another for the other side is great. It would solve some of our problems in the lineup.

If gaining H Vaca means having to loose A Williams, I'd rather keep Williams and have Vaca stay in Dallas. If any of our new draftees can't fill the void at right midfield, than Nick should pick one up with the allocation. Also, MLS should raise the salary cap to $2.5 Million.

It won't happen. The Revs will get the allocation they need for JMM a different way.

No doubt. And everyone knows it'll be another case of The League inventing mechanisms and pulling strings to get another top player to one of its favored clubs.

They're saying on the Revs board that since the Revs don't want to meet Serna and Llamosa's salary demands, they will get either one or two allocations for "losing" those two players. Apparently it's an extention of the Valderrama precedent.

Would that be the Valderama precedent established this year, or does this codicil have a more venerable history?

So if Cannon and Barrett don't re-sign then does SJ get an allocation?

You mean Mark Briggs. And it was a joke. He's the quasi-fascist thug who runs security at Chapter 11 Stadium. He's English, so therefore he's a tough guy, used to dealing with "football hooligans" so it was fitting that they brought him in to deal with the hooligans of both types of football, including the dangerous, viscious soccer moms.

He's being sued for assault/battery by a Pats season ticket holder who got his tix yanked without warning. The guy wanted to meet with him to find out why, and since he brought a lawyer, Briggs lost it, took a swing at the guy, ripped his shirt, and forcibly ejected them from his office.

Actually, given what I've heard of the NJSEA, he would probably fit in right at home there.
