Hello all, This week's show includes: - postgame sound from Galaxy v. NE, including Frank Yallop, Steve Nicol and Mike Burns - my criticism of MLS broadcasts - Abel Xavier and the Galaxy defense - listener e-mails (good stuff, all of you) http://stations.espn.go.com/stations/710espn/sectional?id=soccerpodcasts Thanks
Dave, I've been waiting all day! I just heard it a few minutes ago. Nice job as always. Yeah I know you mentioned the Xavier signing but why didn't you give more insight? I would have loved to hear your opinion on the signing. Was he too far off your radar? What about the trade rumors concerning the return of Ruiz? And hey, have you talked to your source at the Galaxy that told you the ZZ signing was going to happen? If so, what is the lastest on that rumor?
Howie, Good questions. I will certainly address Xavier more in the near future. Just had so much stuff to get to and I don't want to do much more than 20 minutes (even though I have lately)... I don't buy Ruiz coming yet, and I NEVER believed ZZ was coming, but he insisted. We'll see. Thanks again for listening.
Well done Dave... So what's the US Soccer Press Conference on Wednesday going to announce? More importantly, who?
If I had a source on that one, I would have definately spilled it by now! We can only hope it's Jose Mourinho or Martin Jol...
Dave! It was about time that you posted the podcast, I kept checking your website and I would not see any updates. Then I was like, "Dont tell me, they let Dave go" So do you think that the signing of Abel Xavier will confirm and kill any speculations regarding Zinedine Zidane to the Galaxy? Imagine if we would be able to have all of the following players this season: David Beckham Landon Donovan Abel Xavier Zinedine Zidane Jesus! Thats all I would say: JESUS!! Anyways love that podcast, keep up the great work.
No kidding. And as much as I like Joe Cannon in goal, Jesus would be totally unbeatable-- Let's see Twellman try to score on Jesus...
Two oldie but goodie NHL T-shirts: "Only Jesus saves more than Bernie Parent" and "Jesus Saves!! But Espo scores on the rebound."
Dave nice work once again. I certainly enjoyed your view points over ESPN commentary and it's dumbed down tone. We need people who are honestly passionate about the sport to be calling the games. I don't get that feeling from Dave O'Brien and it's frustrating.
Good work. I stil think that SC should have started for JC, if only to test the depth of the keepers early for the G's against the Revs.
