DC United and San Jose Earthquakes to finish last in their respective conferences. Remember that one, because I doubt either team finishes close to the cellar. ;)

Great work as usual 3D, even if I disagree with many of your predictions.

As odd as #20 sounds, now that Malcolm Glazer owns 2.9% of Man U, he could invest in MLS and that would kinda sorta be true.

3rd, you were pumping up the feild turf situation now to find out the players dont like really playing on it. care to revise any previous statements? nothing wrong with being an optimist. good work as always.

No, I would not care to revise any statements. Primarily because I never "pumped up" the field turf.

I did say it was better then other kinds of turf.
(And if you read last weeks Metro story, their players think the field turf they are getting is better then the grass they have had the last two years.)
And I did say the atmosphere in Southlake was going to be fantastic.

But I also said football lines suck...
And I said the principle of turf at all sucks.
and I did say players were not happy about leaving the surface of the Cotton Bowl
(not the stadium itself FYI, no one really liked that)

If you will check my record you will find that most of my statements were for fans to get over it.
This move to Southlake and the eventual Frisco deal, kept a team in Dallas.
Dallas would have been contracted if this deal was not in the cards.

AND that I stand by 100%. We have just been given a $65 million Stadium.
We should all get over something silly and petty like lines and turf.

    Of course you disagree.

They are FEARLESS predictions... i.e. they are out on a limb and supposed to be a little daring.
That is the entire point. Sometimes they are even silly and humorous.

Is there a typo in prediction #6, or is it a well-deserved jab at Metro?

"20 Fearless Predictions for the 2003 season....

    6. Metro will win the 2002 MLS Cup. (Clint Mathis will score the game winner in both the East final and the MLS Cup.)"

United seems like a team that could be real trouble in the 2nd half, but the Quakes? They have 4 or 5 front line players and a bunch of question marks. They're starting a 35-year old keeper and have massive question marks at the 2nd stricker and left back slots. If they finish off the bottom of the table Yallop should get coach of the year awards.

35 isn't over the hill for a keeper. Just means Onstad's got more experience, which, for now anyway, makes him slightly better than an inexperienced youngster like Countess.

"The other disturbing trend of the Jeffries regime that needs to be corrected is that the young players do not seem to be developing. In the past two seasons, he has not developed a single player into a regular starter. Many of the young players that have started from day one do not seem to be improving."

This is what clearly is the most maddening part of being a Burn fan. I would gladly take some more losses if it meant Stone, Johnson, and Vaca were starters.
