With the addition of Salt Lake, we now have a MLS club within the magic 10hr driving restriction for chartered bus trips. What the he|| does this mean? It means we can charter a bus for ~$3000 or less (whereas the cost to go to KC or Dallas is/was ~$5000). These charters are the big jobs with abot 50 plush seats, VCRs/DVDs, large cargo holds for luggage, and a toilet.

According to MapQuest, the distance using I-25/I-80 is 535 miles one way (about 8-9 hour ride straight through -- I'd add an hour for a lunch break if I was organizing it, though).

It's probably also possible to run a quick turnaround from Cheyenne to Salt Lake (it's up to you to get up to Wyoming for the bus ride) that avoids a hotel stay and would be cheaper still (440 miles one way).

    So the question is...

I could see 2 hotel options at the end of the route (moderate and low cost alternatives). Same with tickets (supporters club standing seats and pricier midfield alternative). I'm sure we could offer optional drop-off/pick-up for a post game bash at Salt Lake (although, what would be open and what could you drink?).

Wow, this is all so new and exciting!

    I'm in!

What is this "bus" contraption of which you speak? I live in the American West, where every soccer Man and Woman drives their own Personal Utility Beast...

Wait, that's a PUB. I'd drive a PUB if I could...errrr, their own Sports Utility Beast (I mean, who wants to be a SUB?).

But, spelled backwards, a SUB is a BUS. Do Busses drive backwards?

Actually, just kind of interested in thoughts like: Do you bring your own food and drinkies on board, and who has to clean the facilities?

I'm bad at playing short straw.

    Cheers,

When you hire a bus/driver, they clean the equipment before/after (not us). Comes with the cost you pay to charter. It may also be possible to stock it with two kegs (one going, one coming come -- maybe we need 3 so we can drink 2 kegs coming home). Not sure how the Utah State rim-tops would like us smuggling beer in and out of their state...

Yeah, but it's fun in the short-term.

Let's not forget the road trip to Frisco -- outside the 10-hour window though.
