I don't understand the ref awarding PEC a free kick inside the box at the end. Wellenreuther fielded the back pass with his foot before picking it up.
Feyenoord lost 4-3 in Bucharest to FCSB. They were leading 2-3 but gave up goals at 87' and 90+5' to drop all points. Now only one win in six matches, they are near bottom of Europa League group and it is now a lost cause.
337198 The 200th edition of the Classic is just around the corner: the clash between arch-rivals Ajax and Feyenoord. Which players will not be present on Sunday? Who won the most times? And how did the last editions go? What time is the Classic? Ajax-Feyenoord kick-off in the Johan Cruijff Arena is Sunday, December 14 at 2:30 p.m. Serdar Gözübüyük is the referee in Amsterdam. Which players are missing? The question is, of course, with what complaints the players from last weekend's duels and this week in Europe have come. In any case, both teams have to miss a few strengths. Ajax: Steven Berghuis, James McConnell, Youri Baas (suspended), Wout Weghorst, Branco van den Boomen Feyenoord: Sem Steijn, Jakub Moder, Thomas Beelen, Malcolm Jeng, Gernot Trauner, Hwang In-beom, Givairo Read After fifteen rounds of play, the difference in the ranking between Feyenoord and Ajax is eight points. Feyenoord is still in the race for the national title (sort of ), Ajax seems to have to compete for place 3. Ajax and Feyenoord have faced each other 199 times so far, since the first edition in the 1st Division West on October 9, 1921 (2-2 in Rotterdam). Fans in the stands Since 2009, no away fans have been allowed at matches between Feyenoord and Ajax. The fear of disturbances between the supporters is too great. So there are no Feyenoord fans in the away section on Sunday. Ajax has also decided that the F-side, where the fanatical supporters are, will remain empty during the Classic. The hard core set off massive fireworks during the duel with FC Groningen, causing that match to be stopped. The last five editions The last five editions guaranteed spectacle, due to misbehavior by supporters, historic victories and a late goal: April 2023: Ajax reaches final, lighter on Klaassen's head Thanks to a 1-2 win in the Kuip, Ajax reached the final of the KNVB Cup, after goals from Dusan Tadic and Davy Klaassen. Santiago Giménez does something back on behalf of the Rotterdammers. Afterwards, it is mainly about the lighter that Klaassen gets thrown at his head from the stands. September 2023: Feyenoord humiliates Ajax, fans cause stopping of the match The Classic that was eventually spread over two days. After three goals in 37 minutes (two from Santiago Giménez and one from Igor Paixão), angry Ajax fans caused a strike with fireworks. Things are also getting out of hand outside the stadium. Two days later, the game was played out in an empty Arena. Giménez scored again, it was 0-4. April 2024: historic win for Feyenoord The errant Ajax received another blow in April 2024: Feyenoord recorded its biggest win ever in the Classic (6-0). With two goals and an assist, Yankuba Minteh was the big man. Igor Paixão (twice), Dávid Hancko and Quinten Timber also scored. October 2024: Ajax surprises in the Kuip Feyenoord starts at home as the big favorite, but is surprised by Ajax: Francesco Farioli's team wins handsomely with 0-2. Kenneth Taylor and Jorrel Hato score. February 2025: Ajax strikes in injury time Kenneth Taylor becomes Ajax's hero with a goal in minute 94. Number of points this season Feyenoord and Ajax both started the season with a win, but then fell apart a bit. Feyenoord won the first five matches and walked away from Ajax. However, Feyenoord also had a lesser period.
A lot of the Feyenoord twitter commentators were really down on van Persie. I'm not sure if that's common but I have to say that one shot on goal over 90+ minutes has got to be pretty unacceptable for the fans.
The shots on goal stats are very misleading as they had a lot of shots that were blocked by well positioned Ajax defenders.
It's incredible how dense many critics of van Persie are. In the first 8 matches we played excellent football, Peter Bosz even made compliments about it. That was when Robin had the full selection at disposal. Our defense and midfield was very good. Then the injuries struck, even so bad we ended up in an EL game with barely enough players to put on the list. The injuries played a role in the options RvP had to rotate in the heavy loaded match weeks. So injuries came about too, because players were overloaded in the last weeks. So in the first 8 matchdays the imbecils were shouting halleluja, but now the results are down, they shout crucify him. These people have the reasoning ability and the memory of single-celled amoebas.
Ajax made quicker attacks, and even though most shots were just wide, at least two were on target. On the other hand, Feyenoord f@rted around with the ball, pass pass pass, slow buildup allowing Ajax to bunker defend. Very few quick attacks, especially from the left (Sauer) side. Ajax rightfully earned that victory.
Anyway, was that yellow for fouling Ueda on the edge of the box with nobody between him and the goal, not a red card?
I can see that being true to a point, but it also reinforces the notion that Feyenoord weren't able to get free enough to get unblocked shots.
Feyenoord crash out of the Cup at home, losing to Heerenveen 2-3. Defensive lapses from CB and GK (Bijlow). Now 8 defeats in the last 11 matches, van Persie may not be manager in January.
At least there is one positive: a Feyenoord song has been voted into the top 2000 all-time songs. https://1908.nl/artikelen/top-2000-... de lijst der lijsten,er toch echt: plek 1809.
Feyenoord op 17 december:2024/25:16 duels, 35 punten Europa (CL): 6 duels, 10 punten+ Winst in Johan Cruijff Schaal, overwintering in beker2025/26:16 duels, 34 puntenEuropa (EL): 6 duels, 3 punten+ Exit in voorronde CL én beker— Michel Abbink (@sportzeloot) December 17, 2025 Sack Van Persie. Very simple. Stop with hiring all those ex-internationals as manager.
Van Persie needs to be sacked, but he’s not the only problem as Te Kloese has been awful in the transfer market which has really hurt the club.
338287 Slot's departure and adepts 'killing' for Feyenoord The current Liverpool coach took half of the contents of De Kuip with him. Voetbal International points to Slot's departure: "Arne Slot now appears to have been as great a blessing for Feyenoord as he has now become a burden. With him, not only did a well-defined football vision walk out of De Kuip, but also someone who had the qualities to shape his own ideas, with assistants who had almost the same competencies." A summary: "Slot took Sipke Hulshof and performance trainer Ruben Peeters with him. Leigh Egger, who was highly appreciated by the players (physical and performance), later resigned and returned to Australia. Nowadays, football is increasingly based on data and science, but it is still people who determine the quality of execution." Both of you simply ignore the fact that Feyenoord had an unbeaten run with very good football, until the injury wave hit. Above is a summary of who Slot took with him, who were responsible for the physical wellbeing of the selection. As I already mentioned the current staff responsible for the fitness of the players already under Priske failed spectacular, which was one of the big reasons I opposed his sacking. Now the same scenario in failure on the physical front emerges, while I already last year banged the alarm bell about that staff. So with a fit (beginning of the season, so the load not yet critical) selection Roin van Persie plays football that made commenters very happy, but the same van Persie with a thinned out selection and probably the ones that were 2nd/3d in line for a first team spot turning out not up to the quality of the fit first team selection, and then the losing string is van Persie's fault? I'm very critical about the points loss sustained by goals conceded in the last 10/15 minutes, but I must admit that might be caused by the fact RvP had/has to put in players, who really werenot completely fit yet, but the circumstances made it necesary. And thus the inability to perform the full 90 minutes stretch. So it might be that my criticism about it is unfounded.
Why everyone at Feyenoord is suddenly hoping and praying: the absurd wave of injuries and the pressure on Van Persie The last match of the calendar year is no longer a matter of form, tactics or bravado for Feyenoord. It is an exercise in hope. Not the hope that football will suddenly become sparkling, but hope in the classic sense of the word: hope that it is not too bad and that the damage against FC Twente will be limited this time. Mikos Gouka Mikos Gouka Club watcher Feyenoord 21 December 2025, 10:30 When you know that injuries were out of bounds, so high, to me it's imbecil to put pressure on the coach.
Injuries are in this case not contact inflicted injuries. It is related to the playing style and lack of knowhow.
Same case last season, different coach, different playing style, same performance staff I already then called out. Slot simply took with him the performance knowledge and we didnot replace with the same quality. Slot had a far intensive playing style, yet no out of bounds injuries.
