Ossip Zadkine? What is the purpose of a logo referencing him? What was his connection with Rotterdam?
Feyenoord took an early lead against PSV today, 2-0 within 10 minutes, but played way too conservatively after that. PSV is more physical and it showed with them winning 2-3 on a 90+9' goal. I have no problem with Feyenoord selling Milambo this summer. Hope they get big money for him because he is limited in his physicality and will struggle in the more physical EPL. Same with Ueda. Sell him. We need a striker that requires TWO defenders to guard him so that the other forwards can have some space. Paixao and Hadj Moussa are both skilled and tricky, but can be pushed off the ball easily. Same with attacking midfielder; get someone who can play a bit rough. Milambo can't.
Yeah, after about 10 minutes in the second half I was asking for Mlambo to be subbed out, as he wasnot being useful anymore.
312186 PSV ended an incredible series of Feyenoord with the comeback victory in De Kuip on Sunday afternoon. It is the first time since November 29, 1992 - the Champions League had just been established and Denmark was reigning European champion - that we lost at home in the Eredivisie despite a lead at halftime. At the time, MVV triumphed in Rotterdam-Zuid after a 3-2 deficit halfway: 3-4. Twan Scheepers then made the winning goal. The last time that Feyenoord lost an Eredivisie match in which it led 2-0 was on October 22, 1995 against Ajax, when it was 2-4. In the 336 subsequent times that the Rotterdam team led 2-0 at home in league play, at least a draw was achieved.
It is also painful for Feyenoord that it has lost all meetings with PSV and Ajax this season. That only happened once before: in the 2017/18 season, when the team as defending champion had zero points won in the top matches.
312510 Hartman doubts: 'This might have been my last game in De Kuip' Quilindschy Hartman was emotional after his substitution during the win against RKC Waalwijk (2-0). The left back, who recently made his comeback after injury, may have played his last game in De Kuip on Wednesday evening. His contract with Feyenoord expires in mid-2026. Against RKC, Hartman was in the starting line-up, while in the top match against PSV he still had to make do with a place on the bench. In the last minute, he got a crowd change, after which he took a seat on the bench visibly emotional. 'Yes, I have to say that I do find it difficult, this situation. I think we have three basic left backs in the selection, but I don't think that's something you want to experience for another season.' The 23-year-old defender still has a one-year contract with Feyenoord. He has played for the Rotterdam team for the past fifteen years, including his period in the youth. But what does his future look like? 'I always start from my own qualities. I think I'm the best, so I think I should always play. From Sunday onwards, I'm going to think very carefully about what I really want. This season was all about getting fit after that long injury, and I succeeded. I'm happy with this season and with how I feel now.' With a view to the 2026 World Cup, Hartman wants to make a well-considered choice about his future, but whether it also lies in Rotterdam? 'It keeps me awake at night, actually. I think about it a lot, because it is a very important decision in my life. I think it will all become clear in the very short term. This could have been my last game in De Kuip.'
312642 Bittersweet: Feyenoord says goodbye to Peter Houtman in an impressive way Feyenoord has said goodbye to stadium speaker Peter Houtman in an impressive way. The former striker is saying goodbye after 27 years of loyal service for sad health reasons and was after his last home game in De Kuip, in which RKC Waalwijk was defeated 2-0, on the center spot extensively cheered and sung by Het Legioen. Prior to the battle with the Waalwijkers, Houtman (67) was already put in the spotlight. As a surprise, his granddaughter was allowed on the field as a mascot. In minute 68, around Ayase Ueda's 2-0, Het Legioen was already chanting his name. In minute 72, the crowd again raised an ovational applause. Afterwards, Houtman came onto the field through the equally iconic tunnel, after which he made his way through a hedge of applauding Feyenoord players and staff to a podium at the center spot. There he was met by director Dennis te Kloese and club legend Willem van Hanegem, who presented him with the trophy named after Van Hanegem. I sincerely hope his illnes catches up with him as slowly as possible, so he can enjoy life with his loved ones for a long time to come.
Internal turmoil: Robin van Persie clashes within Feyenoord over top transfer Within Feyenoord, there seems to be internal disagreement about the course on the transfer market. The reason is the possible arrival of Luciano Valente, for which the Rotterdammers, according to Rutger Vinke, have made a concrete offer of four million euros excluding bonuses at FC Groningen. The transfer is mainly driven by Robin van Persie, who is getting more and more influence on the sporting policy at Feyenoord. He would insist on the arrival of more "ready-to-use Dutchmen", or young players with Eredivisie experience who can be deployed immediately. Technical director Dennis te Kloese has reportedly listened to this wish by suggesting Valente as a serious option. However, not everyone within the club is convinced of the Groningen midfielder. Feyenoord's scouting prefers to look at Mamadou Sangaré from SK Rapid Wien. The 22-year-old Malian impresses in Austria and, like Valente, can play both as a central and attacking midfielder. According to Rutger, Feyenoord has not (yet) become concrete for Sangaré at the moment, but his name clearly lives within the scouting department. Sangaré, international of Mali, has been playing for Rapid Wien since last summer. The top club took over the midfielder for only 700,000 euros from rival Red Bull Salzburg and signed Sangaré until mid-2028. The six-time international is a fixture in Vienna and has already played 44 games this season. His number of yellow cards is striking. The midfielder has already picked up no less than sixteen yellow cards and two direct red cards. Sangaré represents an Estimated Transfer Value of 6.4 million euros. If the arrival of Valente is nevertheless pushed through, his arrival may not be supported by the scouting of the Rotterdammers. What is clear in any case: Valente himself is very keen on a move to De Kuip. The talks with Feyenoord have impressed the Groningen-born playmaker, who does not hide the fact that he is ready for the next step. Reportedly, a personal agreement is already within reach. If it is about players with comparable capabilities my preference is to avoid players with an African passport, as they have that stupid every year cup fight in januari, that make indispensable players for your title esperations gone for weeks. Avoid them as much as possible.
312877 https://1908.nl/artikelen/feyenoord-supporters-kunnen-vanaf-nu-stemmen-op-nieuw-tenue Feyenoord supporters can now vote for new kit (POLL) May 16, 2025 12:30 Just at 12:30, Feyenoord opened the ballot boxes for The Twelfth Shirt. Supporters were able to send in their ideas for the design of next season's fourth kit in March and a selection of twelve designs was made from the 3,929 entries. These have been worked out by Castore and are now competing to be carried by the Feyenoord selection in the 2025-2026 season. "The Feyenoord shirt is more than fabric. It is intertwined with memories and dreams, character and pride. Imbued with the smell of victories, the tears of defeats and the promise of tomorrow," it sounds on the Feyenoord website. It is the first time that Het Legioen can help determine the design of a new kit for the club. Supporters have sent in their design ideas en masse and Castore has started working on that. Twelve designs have been created, which can now be voted on. The twelve options can be viewed below. Until next Monday, May 19, 12:12, you can vote for the Twelfth Shirt via this link. The final voting round will open that same day at 19:08, where you can vote for three shirts until Thursday 22 May 23:59.
My vote would be shirt nr 9, as it at least looks like a Feyenoord shirt. Second choice would be nr.11.
https://www.ad.nl/voetbal/feyenoord...p~a73821dc1/?referrer=https://duckduckgo.com/ The Feyenoord supporters commemorated the bombing of Rotterdam with an impressive atmosphere action. With banners that covered a significant part of the stadium. "The most beautiful atmosphere action ever in our Kuip." Beforehand there was speculation on X: during Feyenoord-RKC Waalwijk, the spectators in the stadium would see one of the most beautiful atmosphere actions ever. Not a word was a lie: a few minutes before kick-off, a banner appears on which German fighter planes are drawn. Fans in the upper ring lift the banner to the seat to their right, making it look like the planes are flying away. As a voice takes the fans in the stadium through the speakers to the terrible event in 1940, a broken, smoking city appears above section S. Impressive ending The atmosphere action reaches a spectacular end when a new banner is hoisted. In that manner, the destroyed city on the banner makes way for a new, colorful canvas, which symbolizes the resurrection of the city of Rotterdam. The fans from the stadium applaud and cheered loudly after the atmosphere action. 'So that we never forget. The most beautiful atmosphere action ever in our Kuip', writes a fan on X.
Yeah, the issue with the yellow and red cards is a red flag. I would go with Valente instead of Sangare. But the midfield is already a crowded field, unless some leave, and centre back and wing are a more pressing needs. Also, is Ueda the best Feyenoord can do for a central attacker?
I like shirt nos. 3 and 4. That color of green in no. 3 is fairly unique and shows off the Red/White logo well. Shirt no. 4 is just plain classy, simple design (like Real Madrid) which emphasizes the Red/White logo. I don't like the designs where the logo disappears because it takes on the background colors.
FC Twente are going to make an offer to Feyenoord for Thomas van den Belt. That would remove one midfielder from the cluster that is forming for next season. vd Belt had a decent season in Spain's 2nd division, finishing with six goals and three assists for Castellon.
313162 Feyenoord shows itself combative after third place: 'In twelve months we will be champions' Feyenoord had a supporting role this season. But if you listen to trainers, players and management, you will hear that this will no longer be the case after the summer break. "In twelve months we will be champions."
133298 Well, the season ended with a turd match. If we can describe this season of Feyenoord, it has to be the season, we managed to underperform by a huge amount. We hadnot our selection complete at the start and since then had to play catch up. In that we also encountered a lack of depth in our selection, so when key players were injured, we lost points due to the fact the subs were nowhere near the level needed. When we enter into the qualifying rounds of the CL, we better have the core of the team signed and ready, otherwise it will be a costly affair...at least 45 million missed CL cash (we made this year over 70 million in it).
It looks like my two choices made the Final 3. https://1908.nl/artikelen/tweede-stemronde-het-twaalfde-shirt-deze-drie-designs-zijn-overgebleven Lesson to designers, the logo has to be true color and not disappear into the background. All three have the true color logo.
313601 Luciano Valente (21) has been given a tour of Feyenoord in Rotterdam-South, made possible in part after the club had officially reported to FC Groningen to talk about a possible transfer of the midfielder. An interested club is not allowed to talk to a player if he still has an ongoing contract, but by making the interest official, Feyenoord will have more room to talk to Valente and his entourage. Feyenoord has also made a first offer last week, of four million euros plus one million in possible bonuses. That opening bid was rejected by FC Groningen.
