Never heard a sweeter sounding word than Feyenoord part 2

  1. Interim report Feyenoord in CL: Hancko stable factor between stars
Feyenoord's so far memorable Champions League campaign has led to mostly good scores for the players of the Rotterdam team.
Anis Hadj Moussa has the best interim report after six of the eight group matches.
    upload_2024-12-13_0-11-38.png
Hadj Moussa owes that top ranking to his excellent performances against Manchester City (3-3) and Sparta Prague (4-2). The Algerian winger was decisive in both matches and received a 7.5 for that. Because he also came in the lost home game against Red Bull Salzburg after halftime (6.5), the 22-year-old dribbler has the best rating on average: 7.13. Hadj Moussa did not receive a grade in Feyenoord's first three Champions League matches, because he was too short in action or not at all (on a visit to Girona). The fact that the winger, who came over from Vitesse, is already one of the difference makers, is indicative of his rapid development. Coach Brian Priske praised him afterwards at the press conference for his efficiency, but also for his work when losing the ball.
Feyenoord impressed against City and Sparta Prague, as well as against Benfica.
Antoni Milambo was the big star with a 9 and is partly due to that high mark in shared second place, together with Dávid Hancko.
The Slovakian defender has played in all six matches long enough to get a grade and scores an average of 7. Only against Salzburg (5.5) did Hancko disappoint somewhat. Milambo was missing in that match, in which seven failings were handed out. Igor Paixão's average has been brought down considerably by his performance against the Austrians (4.5). Goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther, Bart Nieuwkoop and Ibrahim Osman, who started as a striker in that game, also received a 4.5. They were unable to boost that figure sufficiently in the other matches and form the basement of the standings.
Furthermore, the averages of Feyenoord's players are all quite decent. It reflects the mostly good performances of the Rotterdammers, who brushed off painful defeats against Bayer Leverkusen (0-4) and Salzburg (1-3) with handsome victories over Girona, Benfica and Sparta Prague and a sensational point at Manchester City. As a result, Feyenoord is on course for a place in the play-offs.

Manon doesn't know yet how to look forward to 9:12 pm this Saturday evening. A huge canvas will be rolled out in De Kuip. A full Kuip will sing for her husband Wesley Huijgens. The fanatical Feyenoord supporter died two weeks ago. He was only 36 years old.
Lotte (5) and Daan (2) have been ecstatic for days. With mom and dad to the Feyenoord Open Day. They have only just arrived when they bump into a camera crew from Rijnmond. Where will their favorite club finish?
Wesley is modest and answers that Feyenoord should go for place 2. His daughter corrects him and says that Feyenoord should become champion. From a distance, mom Manon takes a picture with a smile. None of the 30,000 visitors has the idea for a moment that it is the last time that Wesley will be in De Kuip.

Gimenez prepares for top match in Eindhoven: 'Title race is open'

Santiago Gimenez is very happy with his growing form and is looking forward to next week's top match against PSV. The Feyenoord striker scored three goals against Heracles Almelo on Saturday evening, doubling his total production in this Eredivisie season.
For Gimenez, it was his third hat-trick in the service of Feyenoord and his first in De Kuip. The striker was out of circulation for almost two months this season with a thigh injury and notices that he is feeling better and better. 'I'm in a process and I'm still not quite the same as before, but initially I was even told that I wouldn't play in 2024. We just stick to the vision of the physios and the medical staff,' said the striker to ESPN. To the reporter's observation that Gimenez looks sharper than before his injury, the Mexican international replied. 'Maybe. It is up to the people to make their own judgment based on what they see. I'm someone who just always keeps working hard.'
At the time of the interview, Gimenez did not know that leader PSV had lost at SC Heerenveen earlier in the evening. Next Sunday, Feyenoord will visit PSV. 'Has PSV lost? I didn't expect that. But I also only focus on Feyenoord. I don't really care what they do. It's nice that we're getting closer.' 'Hopefully it will be a nice match next week, the last of this calendar year. I hope many people can enjoy it. My whole family also comes over to see that match. The title race is open, right from the start of the season. It's up to us to get as many points as possible. We have no influence on how the competitors perform. Our fans and this club deserve new successes.'

Absent Igor Paixão reassures Feyenoord fans: 'Don't worry, I'm okay'
Igor Paixão has not suffered a serious injury during the home game of Feyenoord against Heracles Almelo (5-2).
"Don't worry, I'm okay", reports the left winger on Instagram
    .

Good, because we need both him and Moussa on the wings to threaten the defense that much, the backs don't have the opportunity to go forwards.

  7. We were lucky that Ajax was too stingy to poney up 2 million for Anis Hadj Moussa.
Boy, would he have made a difference in quality in that team.

Santi's father gives away son's future
Santiago Giménez is back at Feyenoord. The Mexican had a difficult second part of last season, after which he was injured at the beginning of this football season. Now that he is back, the question arises where his future lies. The striker's father may have given away it. Father Santiago Giménez reveals Feyenoord striker's departure plans

Last season, the Mexican attacker was frequently linked to Nottingham Forest. The English club was interested in the striker for a while, until his goals in and around De Kuip dried up. At the beginning of this season, things didn't go so well either, with an injury as the low point.

A few weeks ago, Giménez made his return to the football field. Since his return, the 23-year-old Mexican has played eight games, in which six goals and one assist were the return. Whether there will be something like Nottingham Forest in the future? Father Christian was open about that against Record. "The plan is that he leaves Feyenoord." "Santi has been playing at Feyenoord for two and a half years now," said father Giménez. "The club is open to listening to a good offer. It is up to us in this matter to remain calm. The transfer market is coming up again and I hope he will make a move. Is that not happening? Even then there is no problem, Santi is very happy at Feyenoord
    ."

So to summerise it, basically daddy didnot say shit, another example of socalled news, sucked up by someone posing as a journalist.

Voetbal International published in this week's edition the analysis of the defeats suffered against Brest and Heerenveen.
According to their analysis it was because of the high pressure of the wings on the defense/backs of PSV, that made their contribution to the attack negligable.
Guess what, the two wingers of Feyenoord, Igor Paixão and Hadj Moussa, are superior to what caused PSV troubles.
So, unless Peter Bosz comes up with a smart plan to nullify the wing threats, my guess is that Priske follows the script laid down by Brest and van Persie. It requires a relentless alert state of mind of the midfielders though, to keep Veerman from launching Saibari.
When in possesion/pressure mode I think the 3-4-3 formation is to be used. In that situation it will be interesting to see how Tilmann fares under pressure defensively.
When PSV has the ball, swift falling back into 4-3-3 mode is required.
PSV is vulnerable in the swift counter and that's precisely the strength of Feyenoord. We struggle against bus parking clubs, but that's not the Peter Bosz MO.
Luuk de Jong has the habit always to score against Ajax, especially in the Arena, but the last time LdJ scored against us is already a decade ago, December 17th, 2014!
Not clear yet if Bakayoko and Karsdorp will be fit enough for the clash on Sunday.

    https://www.soccernews.nl/news/ajax-record-lonkt-voor-feyenoord/
Feyenoord can equal Ajax record at PSV
Feyenoord has the opportunity to equal an Ajax record on the last matchday of 2024. If the Rotterdam team manages not to lose on the visit to PSV, then they will be on the same level as a performance of Ajax in the 1995 and 2001 seasons.
Feyenoord put in a great performance this year by not losing any of the
23 away games in all competitions it played in 2024. The Rotterdammers managed to win fifteen times and drew eight times. That was against Manchester City (3-3) and PSV (2-2), among others. Ten matches were led by Arne Slot, who now works for Liverpool. Brian Priske won eight games and drew five times.
    .
Success series Van Gaal and Ten Hag
If Feyenoord manages not to lose in Eindhoven on Sunday, it can be on a par with Ajax. The Amsterdam team succeeded in doing so in the 1995 and 2021 seasons. In 1995, Louis van Gaal was ultimately responsible for Ajax, who managed to win the Champions League in that year. In 2021, Erik ten Hag did the same trick with the Amsterdam team. Ten Hag remained unbeaten no less than 26 times, while Van Gaal's counter remained
    at 22 games.

So what is it? 22 or 23 games?

No, I think spot 2 is what we're going to end up, but that needs Hwang to stay healthy/not suspended.
The only other club that's going to be a threat is AZ. Their young team is getting to grasp what Martens wants on the pitch and they're getting more experienced with each match, so they're going to get better and better.
PSV's "luck" is their deep bench and that Hwang joined us after the league was already running.
If Hwang was with us from the start alot of points hadnot be dropped. Hwang was the replacement of Wieffer too late.

Feyenoord trumps Eredivisie clubs with best transfer: 'That man can do everything' Today at 09:40

Feyenoord has done golden business with the signing of In-beom Hwang, according to #DoneDeal, the transfer podcast of VoetbalPrimeur.
The South Korean is labeled as the best acquisition of all Eredivisie clubs.
"For me, it can only be one. In-beom Hwang", it sounds when it comes to the tops and flops in the field of transfers. "Does that need any explanation? I think that's a real force. If he doesn't participate, it's really a big loss. In my opinion, that man can do everything: attack, defend, score, conduct. Really a complete midfielder
    ."

Can't argue with that. I would call Anis Hadj Moussa the second best.

Holy crap. It looks like we have to face FC Utrecht without both Timber (5th yellow card) and Hwang, as his injury isnot progressing positively.

    According to VI:
It is already known that the game that Feyenoord will play against Utrecht next Sunday will in any case come too soon.

Dunno about the injury details, but recovery that long after the cup match is a serious let down.
Hoping for the best, as a midfield without the 2 dominating players is too much of a quality drop.

    Uhm, no.
Ajax is going to drop points in this second half of the season.
Without an unbelievable stupid act by a RKC defender, resulting in a completely unnecesary penalty in the first 5 minutes, Ajax would have lost points. Ajax is playing so unbelievable bad and by sheer luck escaped points losses the first half of the season, that it's unlikely that kind of luck continues for a whole season.
My prediction is PSV champions and spot 2, 3 and 4 going to AZ, Feyenoord and Utrecht with AZ claiming spot 2 or 3 and Feyenoord and FC Utrecht fighting for spot 3 and maybe, very maybe challenging AZ for spot 2.

You can argue that there is some luck involved in Ajax's results, but their GD is the second best in the league after PSV - that accounts for more than just luck. Ajax's offense is terrible, but their defensive record is a bit better than anyone other than PSV - and only a little worse at that. If any team is going to fall off, it's going to be Utrecht, but I think that a) you can't count on Ajax alone to drop points, because b) the rest of the teams behind PSV are going to drop points as well.

My prediction for 1-5 would be PSV, Ajax, Feyenoord, AZ, and Twente.
