Indeed, it was 8-0: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/jun/22/least-successful-testimonial-match-ever And take Johan Cruyff's farewell fixture for Ajax against Bayern Munich. You might think the result doesn't matter in a testimonial and, by and large, you'd be right, but what about when the team you invite turn up and give you a proper shoeing? "The German champions wanted to show their Dutch counterparts something after earlier defeats and not being welcomed at Schiphol Airport," writes Dave G Boham. "They even had to sleep at a sub-par hotel. After jeers from the crowd, they showed their hosts something. Three goals were disallowed during the 8-0 hammering dished out by the Bavarians. The Ajax players just wanted to have a good time. In 2006, Bayern apologised."
Like, every attack is unconformable and I don't even think it is all that impressive what they do. That means the level of the Dutch NT is really pretty low and we knew that already.
The clearances are indeed bad. Bruma almost gives away a penalty and then gets away with it, but what follows is a clearance ending up in the feet of a central French player close to the 16.
KNVB is a joke. Blind has no idea how to organize or inspire a team. Only good thing was the 14th minute tribute to our hero Johan. But the performance on the pitch is certainly no tribute to him. Sad.
I'm not terribly worried. Oranje is in between generations right now. This happens to all big soccer nations, its just that we have sunk to an extra low plateau for some reason
I'm not really worried, just feeling sad. This is a tribute game for a legend from the past, and look at the state we are in these days.
Maybe something like this in the 2nd half. ----------------Cillessen----------- Karsdoorp-Veltman-Van Dijk-Willems ----------Classie-Bazoer------------- ------------Wijnaldum------------ ----Promes-Janssen-Afellay----
I hear you bro. I might switch to CNN later on, their coverage of Ted Cruz's affairs and ISIS in Brussels is much more exciting then this shit
Promes is the only one on the pitch who looks like he can play at this level. Klaassen is playing just like he does at Ajax with lots of aimless energy. Back line is dodgy and Veltman didn't keep up with Giroux after the ball was not properly cleared. Clasie is poor. de Jong had one or two decent touches but was otherwise not a factor. Until some players with quick handling speed are developed this is the type of football that we will be seeing in the future. I don't think even Guardiola could do much with this group.
Am I the only one to find Willems boring with his crosses/passes ? Always the same ones, and they rarely work.
No you are not. Mitchell Dijks at least tries to beat his man and deliver a cross. Haven't seen much of anything from Willems.
