Yes, a FIFA "friendly" date. That's what is generally referred to as a FIFA date. I guess the name is used interchangeably. Mexico has no 'competitive international' for a while. In Los Protagonistas they also referred to March 31 as a FIFA date. See the interview with Lavolpe below from mural.com -
Another article. Another article where Lavolpe talks about Castillo. http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/story?id=219580
Re: Another article. I think we should give this Castillo issue a rest! He (and his father) used the NT for his own means. They are hypocrits. They claim that no one from the FMF has contacted them, etc. I heard in Televisa Deportes a conversation between De la Torre and Nery's father! Basically DeLaTorre kept the doors open for Castillo. His father was just making excuses ... that Pnathinaikos is near winning the championship and that Nery need to be concentrated there, etc. etc. Just excuses! What more do they want ? The FMF president himself talk to them! They are playing a propaganda game. No-one knew about them before! It wouldn't surprise me if they were the ones who made the first contact. He is playing in a weaker league than the Mexican league for Christ sakes! Yes, Panathinaikos has played in the Champions League (and got hammered!). Whereas Necaxa outplayed some of the best teams in Europe (ManU and RealMadrid) ... so ? I think Sinha is more mexican, -he has been living in Mexico for more than 7 years (speaks mexican-spanish more fluently than most native players) - than this so-called wonderful player.
http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/story?id=221016 Fine................. He may go on and play well for another national team, that's ok.
Looks like I don't have to. http://www.eluniversal.com.mx/pls/impreso/noticia.html?id_nota=213454&tabla=notas I don't know........sounds to me like he needs to speak with the FMF directly.
you should only be allowed to play for the country you were born in, even if your parents were born elsewhere. you should not be able to play for a country just because your parents come from their
You should play for the country you want to as long as you have ties to it and you really want to do it. Not because you can´t get a call to your first choice.
Dude just check out France...they had many players that were not French born. If they did it (and won the world cup) Mexico should do it too.
