Can't be Colombian. Usually our guys get injured for at least 5 months.

Both Colombians in Betis starting lineup today..Antony will also play, only one missing is Isco. But this looks promising

Don't know what they see in Antony. Average player. Very predictable.

He was their best reinforcemente last season in just six months, he managed 6 goals and 6 assists in only 16 matches. That version of him looked much more like the player we saw at Ajax, not the “blooper” version we saw at Man Utd. At this point, I think it’s becoming pretty obvious that the real problem is the club itself, not the talented players who go there and end up getting burned.

And honestly, if you questioned what they saw in Antony, then what can you even say about Cucho? His numbers were without a doubt much worse than Antony’s, and his overall performances were clearly below that level, despite the fact they both arrived during the same window...and is older than anthony

I like Deossa. I like that he plays hard- nosed defense and also is not afraid to join in the attack and shoot the ball towards goal. I like his technique in tight spaces. I like that he is starting in Spain and does not look out of place.

The only problem is I am not sure what position he will play with Colombia if he is competing for a starting role. I see him being a very good bench role player but not sure if he would be good as a starter in our system.

I hope he can come in and push Lerma out of the XI... He has to earn that...

They are different types of players. I think it is more likely he fits into more of the Rios role but he is not as good as Rios.
He can also play instead of James in some sort of formation but that may be too defensive.

We are good enough where we should be playing with two Rioses on the field vs. a Rios and a Lerma that's my point!

I know that is your point. And I would not mind it at all.
That said, Lerma is playing well again in England and is one of Lorenzo's favorites at midfield. They are different types of players and I do not see Lorenzo sitting him down for Deossa.

I hope the best guy earns it. And it will take a lot to put him into Lerma's spot/ role based on what we have seen from Lorenzo.
But you never know. I was shocked Rios started in Copa America.

Deossa is box to box, and more of a 10 than a 6 isn't he? On paper Deossa/Castano/Rios is a really well balanced midfield 3. Deossa gets freedom to run between the lines and get into spaces, Castano holds and Rios does what Rios does. With Deossa able to defend it also allows Rios freedom to make runs, good balance to have everyone able to defend. I don't love us continuing to play Arias in a deeper holding roll, we should look to unleash him more either on the wing or in the center playing the James roll.

I think of him as a 8 to play beside Rios at 6 and Castaño or Portilla at 5... MAYBE... if he becomes what we hope.

he was playing in Mexico that what got him in the CWC. He was being mentioned by some of you before the CWC.

CWC is just when Europe and the NT coach bothered to scout him.

Nacional and the league need to do better at keeping good players and selling them onwards. The NT needs to do better scouting and not go omg they just made European team now they can play on the NT or should be on the radar

the kid who just started in Portugal at goal is now magically going to be called up just like Devis was once the Milan transfer happened. These clubs shouldn't scout better than our Federation our own players.

He was actually called and on the radar before the Club World Cup.
Playing in Mexico was the reason.

Him being called up had nothing to do with the CWC.
