I've been pushing for A-League teams to do more audio webcasting, both for us to be able to listen to our (or any) particular team as the season goes on, but frankly, it makes good PR. I've been working on finding equipment that'll allow "broadcasters" to work out of any stadium with a land-line telephone, instead of hauling expensive equipment around. I think I've found the equipment, but I need some help in doing a proof-of-concept broadcast. Here's what I have and will do: provide a DSL line with static IP address, purchase the equipment necessary to convert the phone signal to a PC, and "man the board" as it were. I am looking for someone to organize a broadcaster (or team) at an A-League game. If you're interested, here are your requirements: * You would have to arrange through your local team to use the press facilities. * You will need access to a land-line (Let's not try cells at this time) telephone at the stadium. * You will have to provide your own local phone equipment. This would be a regular telephone (I would recommend a headset phone), and if more than one person will be "on air", a splitter to connect to the phones together. * You will have to eat your own long-distance charges (maybe the team will if you ask nicely). * You will have to provide the "talent" - please try to have it be professional in attitude. * It will have to jive with my schedule. The goal is to show that audio webcasting can happen with nothing more than a PC, a reasonable amount of bandwidth, and under $200 of additional equipment.
