Guys: The Crew are going through a slump that was evident in 2003 and has progressed into 2004. Some players have left (McBride, most noticeably), been let go, traded, and new faces have come in. Some have made an impact and surely strengthened the Crew. I need feedback and constructive criticism of the Crew and their current situation. If you can provide your own observations, personal analysis and insight in relation to what the cause of the Crew's difficulties are, I would greatly appreciate it. I have my own ideas, but I would like to see what observers of the Crew think. Please keep it civil, and please refrain from any flaming. Thanks !
Well Mr. (Jim) Smith, https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=111596 Pretty much tells it like it is... Going back a few years gives us: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3797 Read through those so we don't have to re-type the same stuff over and over. TBAR Fire 'Druler
Read anything posted on www.huntparkinsider.com, the FIRE ANDRULIS thread, and anything posted by PVancouver. Start with those and then come back. I doubt you'll need to. For me, it breaks down to a simple organizational culture within the Crew orgnization that allows mediocrity to be the de jour standard of operation.
I can't remember who it was (Chris Bailey, I think) wrote a piece in their personal forum about how blatantly average to below average the Crew have been since their 1996, from results to players. Couple that with the love shown to GA and that should be enough response.
What exactly do you need this input for? Are you writing a deposition on the Crew or something? Are you doing research for HSG? Give us a little detail.
The Crew Org has a cronic lack of ambition, winning is clearly secondary to the spreadsheat bottom line.
