War, recession, injuries to critical Hondurans and Bulgarians. It can get pretty damn depressing. Luckily we have our good friends in The Cauldron to entertain us with their wacky pregame predictions, where 4-0 scorelines favoring the Wiz and attendence numbers bordering on 30k are the order of the day. Enjoy! https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42839
1. Hope they're right about the attendance prediction. 2. About the other, it can only benefit us to be the underdog. The more overconfident the Wiz are, the better chance we have to take a result; the more overconfident their fans are, the sweeter a result for us will be.
Re: attendance. I just went to the Wizards web site to see what the best available seats were for Saturday and it came back with Section 118 (midfield), Row 6. I don't see how they can be predicting 30K when you can get seats that good 5 days before the event. Still, though, the weather forecast calls for sunny and mid-70s, so there could be a good walkup. As for the score, SABuffalo, does March 26, 2000 sound familiar? None of us thought that could happen, either.
Need I remind you ... Our pre-match thread will go up soon. I doubt there'll be much laughter in it ...
If our preseason results don't mean anything, then theirs don't either. This is the team that finished 8th last year and they didn't make many personnel moves in the off season. I refuse to believe that they are particularly good. On the other hand, after Saturday's stinkfest in Richmond, I would be thrilled to get a point out of this!
I was at KC's opener last year against Colorado (and should've gone to this year's just to watch them lose). They were lucky if they had 10,000 people there. Everytime I go (at least 2 to 3 times during the summer and a few in the spring), attendence hovers at a little above 5K. They may have a lot of season ticket holders, but their actual attendence is abyssmal.
