I watched Dallas beat the Mutts in the Swamp last weekend. This could be a problem match for us after the disappointment Sunday. What's the prognosis?

We might rebound, Dallas might let up thinking this is a cakewalk no?

I dont think it will be a cake walk by any stretch of the imagination. Gibbs will be out due to Nat duty and that worries me a little bit. What is the word on Twellman?

    You're doomed.

My 6 year old son is predicting a 6-5 win by Dallas. Obviously, he is not taking into consideration results from earlier this season. Though his prediction for the winner seems prescient.

Well, we're elated that through his prescience he has seen the Revs score 5 goals. :D

Has he seen the US qualifier?

Sounds like he may be ready to play. I'm gonna be opptimistic and say the Revs win 2-1 with goals by Noonan and Twellman.

We are up in PEI doing our final packout for our move back to NH.

I've turned in my Rev Guess--Revs 1-- Burn 3. Now this is a good thing. Every guess I've made this year has been wrong :D

I think the Burn has good team this year. Without Joseph and so many other starters it's hard to see us pull off a road win. But then this is MLS--the parity league and these are the Revs--the "Backs to the Wall Team". I would not be shocked to see our lads pull off a tie or even a victory but I'm thinking we will vome home to face the Mutts still stuck at 9 points

    Revs 0 - 3 Dallas

I have a bad feeling that Revs might not show their usual "late-season come back" this year.

i do not think twellman will be playing. he told me sunday that probably 2-4 weeks more and that he found out after jogging around the field sunday that he was not suppose to be doing that. i say he will be back on the june 19th game.

Looking at the game notes I see that the Revs have dominated the Burn at the cotton bowl so that gives me some optimism.

Without Gibbs I can really see the Revs creating some opportunities to attack and the defense will bunker in.

    Revs 1-0 Burn

So, no Joseph this weekend for us...given SN's reluctance to play Kante, I would imagine that we would see Dempsey back at the D-Mid spot and give someone a chance to play forward (Dorman, perhaps?)

Reis (or do you give Brown a shot?)

    Heaps - John - Kamler - Marshall

    Ralston - Dempsey - Cancela - Franchino

    Noonan - ??(Dorman?)

The other option is to move Franchino back to D-mid, shuffle Dempsey back up top and do the Baker/Brilliant insertion. Frankly, I do NOT like Ralston on the left. (Then again, I really don't like Franchino at left-mid either). But the above lineup does the least 'disruption' to the Defense/Midfield areas and with Ralston, Cancela and Noonan contributing to the offense, you at least have the ability to score. If we fall behind then move Dempsey up top and do the Baker/Brilliant insertion with or without the Ralston move to left mid.

I think we get out of synch when we move three or four people out of positions they are normally used to playing. The other option would be to use Kante and go with:

    Reis/Brown

    Heaps - John - Kante - Marshall

Ralston - Franchino - Cancela - Kamler (or switch Kamler and Franchino)

    Noonan - Dempsey

Franchino does nothing to contribute to the offense so keep him off the left side. Kamler if ready has to become part of the offense again. Things always seem to work better with him playing outside mid. Kamler wide left makes Ralston more effective on the right. It also helps out cancela. I have a feeling this may be one reason why cancela has not played so well. Having Franchino as an option is not the same as Kamler.

It looks like Kamler is out, not having been able to complete practice yesterday. That puts things in "even more" dire straits.

    -Heaps --- John --- Leonard -

    ----- Dempsey --- Frenchy ----

    - Ralston -- Cancela -- Brilliant -

    ------ Noonan ---- Vercollone? --

Kamler & Twellman are probably out. Noonan also missed practice with a bad back. So.... assuming he can't go, I think we're looking at:

    Code:
                Reis
    Heaps Kante John Leonard
    Ralston Dorman Cancela Franchino
           Brillant Baker

Coming off the bench we have...umm... Adin Brown. And...umm... I guess Kyle Singer and Luke Vercollone.

Damn. Two spots still open. I'd call and offer my services, but I'm a keeper and that appears to be the only position we don't need help at.

Oops I missed Dempsey. I'm guessing he will start in place of Baker or Dorman. Still, this could be an ugly game, especially in the heat of Dallas.

    ---------Dorman-------Frenchino ---

    --------- Brilliant ----- Dempsey --

Kante should never get back in even if we get a injury and need to sub. I would rather see revs play with 10 players.

I saw the Dallas/Mutts game last weekend, and Dallas looked relatively good (relative to the Mutts, who looked awful). Gbandi is a thug, and I hope no one on the Revs gets hurt by him. It seems to me that last year at Gillette the Revs nearly got into a brawl with Gbandi and Shavar Thomas. Didn't Joey have a gashed head?

Eddie Johnson looked ok, and Klecko (phonetic) brought some speed into the last part of the game, bursting out for two one-on-one's with Johnnie Walker -- he converted one.

Ronnie O'Brien played well, as did the midfielder named Salyer.

With Gibbs gone, I think Dallas will have trouble on defense. Jolley may even gift the Revs a goal or two, like he did for LA recently.

I think the Revs will win, but watch out for late speed from Klecko. I predict 2-1 Revs.

Well I'd play but I have a playoff game Sunday.

This is getting to be re-god-damn-diculous with these injuries. Seriously, when is this going to stop.

The Revs are, on the best of days, slow as molasses. On the other hand, they seem to have adjusted their coverage of counterattacks and don't give up as many bad goals in this regard.

Their buildup is glacial, but why expect otherwise given the team speed. On the other hand, there is a good bit of possession, plus more and more chances being made. Noonan's goals, however good, did not come from individual effort but from taking chances that were there. AND there were more in all of the last three matches.

Cancela has, IMHO, lookede better and better and even if he had a terrible brain fart v. Busch on Sunday, his overall play has been good in the last two matches. When he is passing well, everybody else does too.

All this said, the idea that Heaps and John are on card trouble scares the crap out of me. These guys play physical and if they play scared their weaknesses are exposed.

I don't think we deserve to be in this mess but then have any of the other teams who have been thus snakebit deserved it either?

    These times test us all.

Hopefully Dallas are looking past this one and will suffer from over-confidence. If they key on Pepe and take him out that leaves us without many viable options.

Best I think we can expect is nil-nil.

Check out the Projected Formation Chart from the Revs Site. Not a very strong line-up. But we will see what happens. I think trading C. Brow was a bad idea.
