Who - Revolution @ DC United Where - RFK Stadium When - May 26th @ 730pm TV- ??? Special info - Family Pack night with deals on tickets for groups - https://www.dcunited.com/family-pack-may-26?r=SCHD Figured it is Thursday and we should have a match thread. Might as well keep this as Pre/PBP/Post.
great, we posted these at the same time. i like yours better because of the baby skunk or whatever little angel that is.
Aww...what a cute little stinker. It will be weird seeing Simms back at RFK in a Revs kit. Wonder if we can dunk him in the Anacostia to wash some of that stink off of him.
I flipped off and honked at a dude this morning with plates that had REV on them, probably not even related to that Heaps of Shit team. Damn I hate this team and I don't even feel the acrimony many folks do toward Reis (at least for the Esky thing). They say The Revolution (game) Will Not Be Televised - but it's on Direct Kick so that's not very true If we win by more than 4, I believe there is a by-law in the MLS rulebook that allows Benny to go over and kick Heaps in the shin as hard as he can.
This will be the biggest test to our defense since San Jose. I don't see us getting a shut out so our guys up front better not waste their chances. ------------------------------------HAMID KORB -------------MCDONALD-----------JAKOVIC--------------WOOLARD -----------------------------------KITCHEN NAJAR----------------------------------------------------------------PONTIUS -----------------------------------BOSKOVIC ------------------------SALIHI-------------DEROSARIO
I think this is the biggest test of the defense and Boskovic. Bosko worked well against laid back Colorado and Toronto styles. We'll see what he can do against Joseph. If Bosko can't be effective against a team like NE then there is a real question as to why he should be kept.
Makes me happy to see so many players coming back from injury. Jakovic last week. Pontius and Santos were healthy enough to make the bench last week so I'm hoping they're even farther along by Saturday. Dudar is listed as probable! De Leon and Willis may be ready for the bench too. A bench of Willis, Dudar, Neal, Saragosa, De Leon, Wolff and Santos would be pretty impressive.
I hope Bosko pounds the ever-lovin' snot out of 'em. Also, I hope De Ro and Salihi do as well. And Najar. In fact, I want us to be able to sneak more than three subs into the game so everyone on the bench can have a go at them, as well. And then let us come down and join in. But if we stick to SOCCER, then I suppose goals against them and a win would be nice, too.
A win against this thug team without yet another season-ending injury caused by them -- 'cause, you know, injuring other teams' players is what they do -- would be impressive.
Great test for the team. Last year when playing for a position, specifically the last playoff position (that they could have gotten two ways), they fell apart and lost focus with the extra pressure. I predict 4-1, with Brettschneider scoring the goal of the week, Najar with 2, Salihi and DeRo with 1 each. Everyone from both teams goes home happy with a just result
Because the last time worked out so well, who's the horrid waste-of-flesh center for this match on whom I expect to heap many BOOOOOs?
A win will actually put United into first place until their match on June 16th I don't think any one of us deemed that possible after starting the season 0-2-1 with 1 point from 3 games. Keep it up boys..
Albeit with quite a few more games played (2 or 3 on NY and SKC). Still quite an accomplishment given our injuries, particularly those to the back line...

Brettschneider has five starts (I think) and a goal for NE this year, and Barklage, who I really liked, has put in more minutes on the pitch so far for the Jersey Cows than he did in three years for DCU . (Of course, he had serious knee injuries in successive years.) It's not as if these guys we got rid of were, or are, bums.
