RSL drops Ellinger, retires Kreis and makes him head coach. Good move? The firing at least, if not the hiring? Is this an Arena-type smart move, or did they just hire the next Mo Johnston? Anyone see an anti-Adu statement in this? The Fading Franchise had 0G, 0A (in 4 games) for the man who brought him in. Any other coaches in the league who deserve the hook this early in the season?
As was mentioned in the N&A post on this, RSL essentially gave Toronto an allocation for their head coach.
Seems like it. The RSL fans describing the news conference say that Checketts said he brought Kreis back with coaching in mind. Which hints that Ellinger already had one foot in the coaching grave when they traded for Adu. The conspiracy theory is thus that Ellinger was kept to start the season as Adu bait, and, having served that purpose, he's gone, and perhaps they will look to sell Adu and wheel and deal this summer? [Of course, as one RSL poster noted, this assumes anyone wants him for a decent price. This would make two coaches he's helped to the coaching unemployment line.]
There's other Soccer Coaches out there with experience so why bring in Kreis? He's only gonna make RSL's matters even worst.
