Somebody tweeted about this yesterday. I thought it was worth mentioning. Kick TV and Kicking & Screening have put the full documentary "El Arbitro" on youtube. Watched it last night. It's awesome.
I will watch this, Nordi, thanks for the link. This reminds me: Los Dos Escobares (The Two Escobars) is on Netflix! I saw it when it first came out and recommend it to EVERYBODY not just footie fans! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1522863/
'el arbitro' played here in Houston at the then Angelika Theatre during the MLS all-star game. i had seen a trailer of it and came on here to encourage peeps to attend. a couple of us were there (myself, yossarin, Jonathan Yardley, jvilla) but there wasn't more than 15 people. my point is support local football sht! thanks! love you guys.
I was flat-out broke during the All-Star game. I was lucky the ticket was included in our season package and I got a ride from a friend because I won him a ticket to the event. LOL
The Two Escobars was incredible! I recall very clearly Colombia beating Argentina 5, yes 5! to nothing, in WCQ there in the rumbo al mundial '93, recall the impact it had on the Argie family that lived down the street from me. It set the stage for those events in that ESPN special. Absolutely tremendous short film that pulls no punches. I used to haze Cafeteros about us beating them, for years, then I saw the backstory, I have thus yielded to footballing respect. See it. Please. Tell your sawker haters 'bout it. Shows everything about the sport in our side of our planet.
Finally watched this. Freakin awesome to get that perspective on the game. I wish it could be a season-long reality series.
